Tommy's POV:
"Tommy, Y/n, the family is here to see you," Ms. Parkinson called.
"They're early," I mumbled to no one in particular.
"Mhm," Y/n hummed in response, standing up.
I followed suit, standing up and walking quietly beside her.
Ms. Parkinson led us down the main hall and towards the front room, opening the door and letting us walk in first.
Three men were talking to each other, but stopped when they took notice of us.
The blonde man in the green and white bucket hat spoke first. "My name is Phil and these two are my adopted sons Wilbur and Techno."
He wore a genuine smile that reached his eyes and his persona radiated warmth.
"I'm Wilbur, nice to meet you," the guy in the beanie said.
His voice was soft and smooth. He looked genuinely excited to meet us.
The last to speak was the guy with muted pink hair that was pulled into a braid and hung at his waist.
"'M Technoblade, but only call me that if you're serious. Otherwise, just call me Techno."
His voice was monotone and his expression was stony, but I could see the subtle softness in his eyes. I'm guessing he really cares for his family.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Y/n and this is my older brother, Tommy," my sister introduced herself and me softly, standing to my left.
Despite her voice wavering a little bit, it was smooth and calming as she spoke. She had a small smile, but her constant shifting from foot to foot gave away her anxiety.
"You will have an hour to get to know each other, alright children?" Ms. Parkinson said, looking at Y/n and I.
I nodded and Y/n gave a small hum in conformation. Ms. Parkinson left the room, closing the door as she went.
Silence filled the room, but it wasn't a comfortable silence, it was awkward and suffocating.
"So, how old are you two?" Phil asked, trying to break the uncomfortable silence.
I knew that he already knew, but it was a conversation starter so I couldn't blame him.
"We're both 10," Y/n responded.
I could tell she was observing them by the way her eyes flitted over each of them momentarily, taking in their expressions and reactions.
She always had great attention to detail and a photographic memory.
"Do you like music?" Wilbur asked, a hopeful look in his eyes.
I watched as Y/n's eyes lit up with joy. "I love music!"
A smile grew on Wilbur's face. "Do you play any instruments?"
Y/n nodded. "I play guitar, some piano, and violin."
I smiled as her and Wilbur fell deep into conversation. I took a seat and stayed silent, content with supervising the interaction to make sure Y/n was okay.
My view was suddenly blocked and I looked up to see who it was.
"Tell me about yourself, Tommy," Phil said, smiling warmly.
My eyes widened. "Um, well, I'm Tommy and..."
There wasn't much to do here really, except for spend time with Y/n.
"I like to spend time with my sister," I mumbled, looking down.
"Aww, that's so sweet," he cooed.
My cheeks dusted red in embarrassment and I put my face in my hands. I heard Phil chuckle softly.
"Do you like Y/n?" I asked, removing my hands from my face so that I could tell if he was lying.
"Of course I do! She's a good kid, super passionate, and totally adorable."
He had said the last part loud enough for Y/n to hear on purpose.
I watched her cheeks dust pink and she buried her face in her hands just as I had. I laughed softly as Phil and Wilbur chuckled and Techno had a small smile on his lips.
Techno approached where I was sitting and we talked for a while. Turns out, all three of them play a game called Minecraft and often stream on some sort of SMP.
I looked over to check on Y/n and I saw that she had Wilbur's beanie on her head, him laughing softly.
The door opened and Ms. Parkinson walked into the room, an apologetic smile on her lips.
"The hour is up everyone, so I need to send the next kids in."
"Already?" Wilbur whined.
Y/n smiled sadly and took Wilbur's beanie off of her head and returned it to him. I walked over and took her hand, squeezing it gently for reassurance.
She smiled at me and waved to the other three.
"Goodbye Wil, Techno, and Phil. I hope we meet again." Y/n murmured the last part quietly so that the others didn't hear.
I waved to the three and walked out of the room, Y/n's hand still entwined with mine.
A/n: I don't know anything about adoptions, so let's just pretend this is how it works!
