I ran past them as they just walked inside the school. While they did that, I ran as fast as I could to get to my house. I tried giggling at the door knob, but it was locked, and then I heard someone approach my general direction. I immediately turned around and said, "Hi.". However, they weren't there for me, but for another person who had parked their car by our apartment.
I sighed and turned back, facing the door, when my foot hit a little box. 'Oh yeah, I forgot. Mom would be at work at this time.' I move the small box over a little revealing a key to the door. I turn the lock and take my first step back into my old house. I took a good look around my house. It looked the same as it did 18 years ahead of time when my mom was still alive. There was a plate of rice balls on the table. I just left them there.
I went back to my old room. I saw a few old pictures of my mom and me and one photo of my friends and me. Hung by the photographs was a red mask of my favorite superhero. I picked it up and admired it. Then I went into my draw and found the old book of poems written by each student in our class.
Later
My mom came home, and I was passed out at the entryway of my room. I woke up, and when she noticed this, she asked, "So what do you want, kiddo meatballs or hamburgers?" I was happy to see my mom alive again. "How about hamburgers." she nodded her head, "Sounds good to me." She started the burner and the house started to smell of so many different spices. After a good hour, the food was done. "Mhmm~" it's so good thanks mom"
"I'm glad it's so good that you're crying." I bring my hands to my face to feel water coming out of my eyes. I was actually crying. But she believes it's because of the food. I was probably crying because it was these kinds of moments I took for granted.
