Chapter 6

Later the same day

Kayo and Lee just stood there. There was an awkward silence, but it only lasted for a few seconds cause Kayo just came out with the facts "You're an idiot". 'Dang she's cold" I just jump back at her with "That's how you say hello?!?" 'I said that out loud didn't I? Ahh crap. I bet Kazu straight up told them I had a crush on them'

I shook it off. "Umm Kayo Lee I was thinking since we all walk the same way home, maybe we all could be friends?" Kayo didn't seem too fond of the idea. Lee finally spoke for the first time to me "Friends?? What is it you like about us?" 'They're a pain in the ass' Lee just continued cause I didn't respond "You don't have to answer that if you don't want to. I think I know" Kayo began to say the same thing as Lee as if they could read each other's minds. "You're just like we are. You're 'Fake' too.

There was another award silence. 'Wait, do they know about me'. Kayo continued speaking for the both of them "We saw you running home yesterday" I was confused. Lee followed after Kayo's statement. "You looked so happy, Do you really love your mom that much?"

I clenched my fist then unclenched them almost immediately after that "Yeah" They both looked sad and brought their heads down after I answered. They brought their heads back up and said "That's good." they both began to walk off.

"Wait Kayo, Lee!! Hold up!! So how about it? Wanna be friends??" Kayo stopped in her tracks as Lee went on but soon stopped as well. Kayo turned her head back a little. "Are you serious? So like, does that mean you'd kill to protect me?" After she said those words I froze in my tracks.

'Something bad was happening to Kayo and Lee on the days before they died. Maybe if I can stop it, I can save them'
