The school gave us a few days off to recuperate after the attack at the USJ. I spent the majority of the first day in the hospital. Recovery Girl was called in apparently, she healed the majority of my more serious injuries while I was still unconscious. All I was left with was a minor concussion, some bruising around my ribs and a pretty messed up ankle, which would take longer to heal because the villain seemingly crushed all of the bones there. Luckily I didn't need to walk around with a boot or anything, I just have to wrap it in bandages until it completely heals. It goes to say my grandmother was furious with me, needlessly diving into a situation where I got hurt, even if it was to protect another person. I didn't have the heart to tell her that it probably would happen again if I continue working to become a pro hero. While I was in the hospital I took a moment to visit Mr. Aizawa during his recovery.
I knocked quietly on the door to his room, my grip tightening on my small bouquet of peonies, which my grandmother told me were customary to give while someone was healing. I hear a soft 'come in' after a moment and I slowly slide open the door. My heart drops at the sight of Mr. Aizawa's body on the hospital bed, his entire head is wrapped in bandages and his arm is in a sling.
"Sorry for the intrusion Mr. Aizawa, I just wanted to bring you some flowers." I say unsure if he could see me from behind the bandages, "I also just wanted to say how happy I am that you're okay- I mean obviously you're not okay, and neither an I. But I guess what I'm trying to say is that we made it out alive?" I ramble with a small nervous chuckle at the awkward tension in the room, and the fact that Mr. Aizawa hasn't said a single thing since I came in the room.
"I'll just leave them on the table..." I say quietly setting them down. The vase makes a small 'clink' as it hits the surface. The sweet smell of the flowers surrounds us overtaking the sterile stench of the hospital room. Mr. Aizawa is silent but slightly turns his head to the left, maybe he can see out of that mummy-wrap after all.
"Mayu Mitski..." he starts, his voice is low and scratches at the previously silent room. My shoulders straighten at his words, "What you did back at the USJ was reckless, dangerous and just plain stupid. You should never rush into a fight with villains who are stronger than you, especially because you're just a student. Were the circumstances any different, I would have you expelled. You're getting off easy... this time. I'm sure your injuries are enough of a punishment this time around."
"Yes, sir..." I say putting my head down in shame. He's right... I was an idiot.
"But..." he begins, sitting up a little in his bed, turning to look at me, "I owe you my thanks. I probably wouldn't be here today if you hadn't intervened." He holds out his uninjured arm and grasps one of my hands, "Thank you Mayu. You'll make a great hero one day. I'm glad that you're okay." He moves his hand to ruffle my blue hair. Tears well up in my eyes at the kind, fatherly-like, gesture. I nod my head and smile brightly at him, "I'm glad you're okay too Mr. Aizawa."

I am currently relaxing in my room at the behest of my grandmother, who told me that if she caught me doing anything overly energetic she would take away my manga for a whole month. What she doesn't know won't do any harm, though. I silently slip out of my bed and make my way to my dresser. I slip on a sports bra and some high-waisted biking shorts. I slip on a sundress over top of them to make myself look less conspicuous. I hear Luna make a small 'mew'. I glance down to see her stretching out on my comforter. I smile softly at her before slowly going down onto my knees and leaning my body over the side of the bed so our faces are parallel with one another. Her bright yellow eyes lock with mine. I ruffle the fur on the top of her head, her eyes close slowly in content. I let out a sigh as I watch her. A cat's life is so simple. I wish I could live a life as nice as hers. I let out a small huff of laughter. Let's be honest with ourselves Mayu, you'd make such a troublesome cat. I rest with Luna for a few moments before pushing myself off of the bed. I grab a small backpack to put my water bottle and sunblock in before leaving my room.
