Scars [Todoroki x OC]

"Mayu-chan! Time to wake up hon!" I hear my grandma say from my doorway. I try to sit up only to realize that Luna has decided to lay directly over my eyes. I giggle and lightly pull her off of me. She wakes up and lets out a small meow. I plant a small kiss on her forehead before walking to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Once I make it back to my room I put on some of my favorite lavender-scented lotion and get my uniform on. I decided not to wear tights today opting for some white tube socks with flowers embroidered on them. After double-checking that my tie is on correctly (don't want to make the same mistake as yesterday), I make my way into the kitchen. I check my phone to see that it's just after 7 am. My grandma is sitting at the table drinking some coffee. She offers me a sip but I turn my nose up.

"Gross Grandma, you know how much I dislike coffee." she chuckles at my reaction before gesturing to the kettle, "I put some water on for your tea dear." I smile and kiss her on the cheek before grabbing a mug and some of my favorite green tea. I pop some toast in the toaster and make my way to sit across from her.

"How'd you sleep, Grandma?" I ask before taking a tentative sip of my tea. It doesn't burn my lips so I gradually take a larger sip. The warm liquid fills my stomach and I instantly feel more awake.

"Oh quite well, thank you for asking. Now before I forget, let me grab my camera!" She says before running out of the kitchen. I sigh, I should have known she would take pictures of me in my UA uniform seeing as she technically missed my first day of school yesterday. I hear my toast pop up and I grab some raspberry jam to put on it. I take a quick bite just as I hear my grandma's camera make a small 'click' noise. That sneaky woman! I turn to face her with an exasperated look on my face.

"Sorry, Mayu-chan! You know how much I love candid photos!" She defends before gesturing for me to grab my backpack and stand in front of our door. I set down my toast and make my way over before slipping on my white sneakers. I let out a silent sigh before lifting my head with what I hope is a genuine enough smile for her. I hear a few more clicks before she smiles, "Thanks Mayu! I'll print these out to add to my collection!" My grandmother has a small photo album of first-day photos she's been gathering since I started living with her 8 years ago.

"Alight Grandma, I gotta head out now!" I say after finishing my breakfast.

"Will you be going to school with Tsu this morning?" She asks while sitting down at the table again.

"No, she's been asked to take her brother to school and pick him up afterward so I guess I'll be going to school by myself. But I think one of my classmates lives around here so maybe I'll run into him again!" I say with a hopeful tone in my voice.

"Him?" My grandma asks with a smirk on her face. I know exactly what she's thinking. She's always trying to set me up with any young man she comes across.

"Grandmaaa!" I say while covering my face hoping to hide the hot blush that I can feel covering my cheeks, "It's only the second day of school! I don't want you to scare away one of the only friends I've made!"

"You're friends already? You certainly don't waste any time my dear! Bring him by the shop some time I'll set you both up with some roses!"

I don't bother to respond knowing that we could argue about this all day. I shake my head and smile before giving her a small wave.

"Be good at school today Mayu-chan!" she says as I open the front door.

"You got it!" I yell back, I can hear her chuckling as I close the door behind me.
