Once a week, typically on a Friday but never limited to that day Molly was handed a couple of guineas and told to piss off down the bakery to buy a loaf of bread. Sometimes she was accompanied by Arthur or one of her brothers, but everyone was too busy to make the trip, she left the house on watery lane and after seeing if Finn wanted to come (the answer was an immediate no) made the short journey alone.

Molly entered the bakery, the bell ringing as did, the smell of freshly baked bread filling her nose.

"Hello Molly love" Mrs Pickett greeted from behind the counter.

"Hello, Mrs Pickett, how are ya?" Molly asked politely, she always tried to be on her best behaviour for the older lady, she was always worried she would ban her from coming to the baker and she liked Mrs Pickett's cakes too much to bother to find somewhere else.

"I'm very well thank you Molly" she replied turning her back to get Molly's order together "you know sometimes I can't believe your related to those brothers of yours" she said shaking her head and turning back around to hand Molly the loaf of bread and the free biscuit wrapped up "you're so polite, and well...well I'm sure you know what those Shelby boys are like."

Molly bit her tongue from saying anything that may end her up in trouble, of course Mrs Picket believed she was nothing like her brothers, not when she saw what Molly wanted her to see. If she saw the Molly who smoked and stole sips of drinks and swore as bad as a soldier well then, she was sure that not only would Mrs Pickett stop her from entering the shop, but she would also sell the shop and move as far away from the Peaky Blinders as she could.

"Thank you for the bread and biscuit Mrs Pickett" she turned to leave when Mrs Pickett's voice rang out.

"Of course, oh and please tell your sister I say congratulations on her marriage."

Molly paused, frowning she turned around again "what marriage?" The last time she had seen Ada had been when the girls had gone to the picture house, since there Ada had practically disappeared, but surely if she had gotten married someone would have told Molly, someone...

"Oh, I uh, I assumed you knew" Mrs Pickett said her face flushing red in embarrassment.

"When did she get married?"

"I don't know if I should say Molly, not my family business."

Molly wanted to scoff and waned to ask her when that had ever stopped her but didn't. "Please."

"Last week sometime, to Freddie Thorne."

Well obviously, she wanted to scream, she dropped the bread and marched out the bakery, yelling a thank you over her shoulder. Of course, she didn't expect to be told everything, she understood that she was kept out of stuff that may put her in danger but the fact that she wasn't told that her own sister was getting married, what probable reason for not being told she couldn't even think of one.
