Sage's POV
After we calmed down from laughing, Red would look at me before picking up the daggers they used earlier, tossing one to me. I'd catch it and we'd walk out to the middle, getting into our own stances. He seemed to be in a more defensive stance, so I guess I'll just draw him out while also going defensive. Espe would count us off,
"3!" Red would start walking to my left.
"2!" I'd start walking to my right a bit.
"1!" He'd stop moving and seemed to study me for a moment before lunging at me. I'd side step and lean more out of the way so I could stay close and use his momentum to push him further in that direction. He'd spin around and swing at me, not going as far as I wanted him to be. I'd lean back for the first swing, and used my forearms to block the other swings, backing up as I did so before ducking and swiping out his feet from under him with my leg. I'd quickly move to pin him down, but he'd roll away and get back up, lunging at me again. I'd barely spin out of the way, while he was somewhat past me and I was almost spun all the way around, I'd kick him in the back. He'd recover again and this time decided to play defensive. I'd move over to him, studying his stance before making a bold move and grabbed his wrist with the dagger. He'd move to hit me but I'd quickly duck under his arm I was holding onto and twisted his arm, folding his wrist up to make him let go of his dagger, right before I was able to do my next move, he'd donkey kick me in the knee, making me let go of him and stumble back a bit.
'Ok, that stung a little, guess that's how we're playing?' He'd have a small smirk on his face as he looked at me, grabbing his dagger. I'm not sure what happened but next thing I know I'm up close to Red again, pushing him back before swiping one leg out beneath him and pushing his shoulder the same direction, making him fall on his stomach. I'd flinch slightly for a moment feeling a bit bad at how hard he hit the ground, but I'm supposed to show how I fight, so I'd sit on his back, pinning his arms to his sides with my knees and grabbed his head and pulled it up a bit and started to bring the dagger towards his throat before my vision started flashing red. I'd freeze for a moment, not seeing Red below me, but a different familiar person. I'd look at my hand, not seeing the dagger there but something else that scared me. I'd drop the dagger and quickly get off of Red, apologizing quietly. I'm not entirely sure if I was apologizing to him or to the other person at this point. My vision would no longer be red and I'd see Red looking up at me a bit concernedly. I'd shake my head for a moment before offering him a hand to get up.
"I'm.. sorry." I'd apologize to him. He'd shake his head at me.
"No.. it's fine, are you ok?" He'd ask.
"Yeah.. I'm fine." I'd look over at Espe, seeing her staring at us. Why can't I read her anymore? I'd look back up at Red and he'd sigh quietly.
"I guess we can wrap this up, maybe move on?" He'd ask. I'd nod and we'd start walking back towards Espe, both of us slightly limping. I'd laugh quietly at how we must look.
"That was fun." He'd say while we were walking back to where we left the healing potion prior.
"Yeah, it kinda was." I'd comment back.
"Don't get me wrong though, at the end I was a little nervous." We'd both laugh quietly. When we got back to the room where the healing potion was, I'd turn to Espe.
"You.. might not want to come in seeing how you reacted last time.. We'll be back out in a minute." She'd nod slightly and stood next to the door as Red and I walked in, or well, limped. I'd go over to where the potion was and he'd grab two needles. After I got the two needles filled.
I'd turn to Red, he'd give me a nod and I'd carefully inject the needle in his arm. While I was setting the needle down, he grabbed the other one and was looking at me.
"Oh, I can do it myself.." I'd mumble.
"Could I try though..?" He'd ask. I'd frown slightly at the idea, sure I trust him, but I'm not sure if I trust him enough to stick a needle in me. Though, it is a healing potion so if he does it wrong, it won't leave anything nasty.
"...Sure.." I'd say a bit hesitantly. I'd put my arm out and looked away. I don't like needles, I'm not as terrified of them as Espe is, but doesn't mean I like them. Just the thought of something sharp and small going through your skin into a vein just...
I'd tense up for a moment when I felt a small prick. Oh how I love high pain tolerance. Surprisingly, he actually did it right. When he pulled the needle out and set it down, I'd look at my arm for a moment as I felt the pain in my knee start to subside.
"Huh." I'd mumble.
"I know, it's weird." I'd nod in agreement before cleaning some of the stuff up. We'd then walk back out seeing Espe leaning against the wall.
"So.. What's one of your skills Espe?" Red would ask.
"I'm fairly decent at long range.." She'd mutter. Red would look at me for a moment.
"Will that trigger anything if you do it too?" He'd ask me. I'd shake my head no and we'd start walking back to the training room but to a different area with targets.
"So.. Do you girls wanna start off with guns for now?" I'd look over at Espe for a moment seeing her shrug so I just shrugged as well.
"Sure.." Red would walk over somewhere and stood there for a moment before coming back with a small gun.
"I guess we can start you two on the pistol and see how you do." He'd say, handing me the gun. I'd take it from him and looked down at it for a second, a bit confused for a moment of how I'd use it. Yes, I've never used a gun before.
"Uh.." I'd laugh a bit nervously, Red would take the gun and show me how to hold it and explain how to shoot it. He'd hand it back to me and I'd hold it out towards the target. As I went to cock the gun, I'd blink a few times before closing my eyes trying to refocus myself. I'd look at the target but as soon as I looked back at the gun I'd start feeling very panicky, trying not to think.
'Just shoot it already. Oh my god..' I'd aim the gun quickly and close my eyes before pulling the trigger. After it shot I'd quickly hand it to Red, before opening my eyes and stepping back. I'd look at the target seeing I was a decent shot, but obviously not great. I'd let out a breath and didn't look at Red or Espe before glancing at them. Red looked curious and a bit concerned at me before looking at Espe, handing her the gun, asking quickly if she knew how to use it and she'd nod. He'd then pull me aside for a moment.
"Are you okay? What's going on?" He'd ask me.
"Um yeah just a little freaked out..." I'd solemnly say.
"But that's twice now.. In a row.. With similar things dealing with violence.." He'd mutter.
"I'm fine.. I'll get over it."
"...." He'd look at me seriously for a moment before looking over at Espe then back at me and stared at my eyes for a moment before sighing quietly.
"As long as you're fine. Don't push yourself too much." He'd mumble. I could tell he definitely wasn't happy with my answer and was still curious and worried. We'd walk back over to Espe and I'd look at the target a bit amazed at how much of a better shot she is than I was. Red wouldn't stop watching me when we continued trying out other weapons and it honestly was a little annoying.
