Chapter 2

Espe's POV

I woke up and stretched, my body was sore but I still got up. I'd look around the room a bit curiously for a moment before looking  over at the window. I saw the sun was high in the sky, possibly noon or later. I always had a habit of waking up late, many people always called me lazy and clueless, but in reality I am acutely aware of what's going on around me.

I get up and grabbed my bag I brought with me on our travel. I then changed into a black sleeveless turtleneck and black leggings, I put on my dark cyan and purple hoodie. I walk to the bathroom and wash my face, I look at myself in the mirror. I have short hair that is swept to the right side of my face. I am tan and have a tired face.

I sigh and quickly brush my hair and walk out to the bedside table I put on my mask and high tops and walked out of the bedroom.

I saw Sage and Red talking and I glared at Red, I don't fully trust Red and I'm pretty upset that he's here, but I decided to keep quiet. Sage notices me.

"Afternoon Espe" Sage says sarcastically

"Afternoon Herb plant " I joke

Red and Sage giggle

" Anyway what are we going to do today? "

" Well I was thinking of going around town and exploring"

I nod "That's a good idea "

I look around " Uhhhh hey Sage where are we by the way? "

"Oh.. Uh, we're in New Anomal, or at least a small village by the front gates."

" Oh... So uh you just went into some random person's house?"

Red decided to speak up

"OH!...Uh we checked if it was abandoned"

I look at Red and don't say anything. An awkward silence fills the room.

Sage decides to speak up

" Sooo.... Uh let's explore the town?"

" Uh.. Yeah " Red responds

I only nod

We walk out of the Abandoned house and It's a nice day out. It's not blazing hot or icy cold and the weather is clear. I noticed it's dead silent.....where are the other villagers?

I decided to speak up.

"Uhhhh Sage..Where is everybody?"

"Ummm I don't know?"

" Should we look around?" Red questions.

" Yeah...." I say

" We should split up. I'll go right, Espe you go to the left and Red you'll go straight ahead." Sage would say

" Uhhh I don't think we should split up" Red said shyly

" It'll be fine " I responded

" Ok in 10 minutes we meet back here." Sage exclaimed and ran off

I started to go my way until I felt someone grab my arm. I figured it was Red so I simply yanked my arm back and looked behind me. Sure enough it was Red.

"Hmm?" I questioned

" Well uhhhh.. " Red stuttered

" Well? What do ya want, we need to look around." I said annoyed

" I want to know what I need to do to gain your trust?" He said quickly

I just stared and he stared back

' What? He wants to gain MY trust.....well i have been pretty unreasonable and kind of a jerk to him. WAIT NO I MET HIM YESTERDAY HE COULD BE PLANNING SOMETHING! ' I thought

"Uhhhh hello? " Red questioned while waving a hand in front of my face

I snap out of it and smacked his hand away

" Why do you want my trust so badly? Are you planning something? " I say bitterly

" What n-no! I Uhhhhh " He stutters

"Uh huh like I believe that bull!" I yell

I start saying some 'colorful words' for like 5 minutes

" Ok, Ok! If I tell you will you stop?! " He yells

" Fine... I'll stop If you tell me" I say slightly annoyed

"So..-" He was cut off by Sage Yelling

" Hey guys! "

Me and Red looked over at Sage Jogging towards us

I glare at Red and said

" We'll finnish this later "

" Sooooo. What do you guys find?"

" nothing... " Red said

" Yeah.... Seems like this place is emptied out " I said pretending like I went on the search

" I think this place is abandoned " Sage said

" Yeah I would have NEVER guessed " I said sarcastically

Sage rolls her eyes

" Well should we get going then? I mean we have no business here " Sage stated

" Maybe we should eat first ' Red announced while pulling out his bag. Sage doing the same.

" Oh yeah- Oh no..."

" What?" I questioned

" We uhh ran out of food "

" Oh my god... OK I guess we are going on the road " I sighed pulling out the map

" Hm.... The next town should be at least a 20 minute walk " I announced

" Let's hope this one isnt abandoned " Red piped in

Sage would say " Alright " while I just nodded

We started walking on the path to the next town and again Red and Sage are talking while I lead the way.

' Sage is acting a lot more energetic than all the other times we have been on the road ' I thought to myself

' is it because of Red? GOD I hope not '

I look back to see Sage and Red chatting away

I sigh and look back to the map

' For god's sake Sage why the hell are so trusting LIKE DUDE WE MET HIM LITERALLY YESTERDAY! '

We arrived at the village and thankfully it has people I turn to Sage and Red to tell them that we are here and I see Sages teeth are pointy? and Red has goggles on?

' What the hell? ' I questioned to myself

"Uhh guys we're here..." I muttered

"Oh thanks Espe " Sage said

I decided to say something about her teeth

" Ummm Sage.."

" Yeah?"

" Why's your teeth ummm... Sharp?"

" What?"

Sage started touching her teeth

" HOLY CRAP WHAT?" She exclaimed

" And Red you have these goggles on"

" Oh I know " he said casually

' Ok I'm starting to get mad he CLEARLY KNOWS SOMETHING but isn't telling us '

" Wait, So you do have an anomaly? What's going on?" Sage said uneasy

" Ok goggles! You clearly know something that you're not telling us! " I yelled

" Espe... Stop. Red what is going on. " Sage said upset

" Ok I'll explain, but not here. " Red said
