The room filled itself with tension. Each occupant blankly stared at one another before a sigh interrupted.

"You know what the rule is about animals. I cannot-well, I can believe you decided to ignore them. MC bring the duck back," Lucifer frowned.

MC paused and began to bite their lip. Obviously, they did not think this out, and they didn't have a plan.

"Do I have to return the smoothie as well?"

A collection of eyes widened at their response, and Mammon began to shake his head. Surely, this human knew not to get snarky with Lucifer. It never ends well, and he wasn't sure he would want to get punished for something his human did. The thought alone made him sweat.

"Come on, MC. You-you know that isn't what Lucifer meant," Mammon stressed with a tight smile.

"You can keep the smoothie, MC. Just bring the duck back to..." Satan trailed off.

"The park," MC added unhelpfully.

"Yes, there. I'm sure you can see it later," Satan sweatdropped.

"I really don't care where you got t from. I want it gone and never seen again. Do I make myself clear?" Lucifer glared.

"Yes, sir," MC said as they raised their smoothie-hand against the side of their face.

"Good. Now, I'm going to my room. If I find any other animal, you will receive punishment."

With those final words, he strode away from the room. The others flickered their eyes towards his retreating figure and then back to MC. A brief silence fell upon them as they contemplated their next moves.

"Ah, Lucifer never lets anyone have fun. At least you chose a cute duck," Asmo said, breaking the silence.

"Ducks are too much work. They have too much energy," Belphie slowly input.

"You know Lucifer doesn't take well to animals," Beel added.

"I know, it's just..." MC sighed.

"You weren't thinking?" Mammon added unhelpfully.

"Don't listen to him, he's an idiot. Plus, ducks are rambunctious and it wouldn't work out well," Levi stated as Mammon protested.

"Yes, a cat would be much better. However, that won't be possible will him around. Now, why don't you bring the duck back to the park?" Satan posed.

MC pondered their words and took a sip of their drink. In their mind, at least they could keep their smoothie. This had been a-live and learn-situation. One out of many others.

"You guys are right. I would say we could cook it, but that seems too cruel."

"Hmm...I wouldn't mind having duck for a meal. That sounds good," Beel salivated.

"Not this duck, Beel. Now, I'm going back into the unknown that is full of terrifying demons, ready to eat me if given the chance," MC said.

An uncomfortable silence fell upon them once more. MC, in obliviousness, went back toward the house's entrance.

"Wait! I'll-I'll go with you. You know, can't have you dying out there. Plus, you, uh, need a strong fearsome demon like me to protect you," Mammon chimed.

"Come on then," Mc responded with a raised brow.

With this being said, they embarked on their adventure to the park. On their way, Mammon was nearly killed by another demon.
