Trevor's pov ***

   I decide to proceed with caution where Ashley's family is concerned. I listen for any digs against my woman. Things are pretty tense until Ashley delivers Angie's foal.

  That is when things started settling down. I saw the new respect for Ashley from her brother, sister, and brother-in- law. Even her mother and father cracked a small smile.

  Dad came out to get my help on the border. I let Ashley's relatives follow me. I'm about to get some answers. Ironic how we will be in the little barn.

  I walk in and instantly see my little brothers. They are sitting there with their arms crossed. As if they knew that I wouldn't come alone. Hell! I knew the bastards would follow me too! It is what I wanted. I wanted to let them know that they will not be able to run over Ashley as they have in the past.

   "And this is the proverbial wood shed." I said as I looked at the male relatives of Ashley. "This is where shit gets ironed out. So which one of you wants to tell me why you are all here?"

  They look at each other for a minute. Nobody spoke.  "Do we get to kick their asses until one of them spill?" Trace asked with an evil smile. I almost laughed.

  "Not yet little brother."

  "I was hoping to talk her into coming home to Mississippi. But I didn't know that she was truly happy here. Or that she had a relationship going. Much less two days away from getting married!"

  "The only reason that you want her home is to use her money to finance your family's lifestyle. Micheal, name three things about George Washington."

  Michael thought for a moment. Then started his answer. "He is our first president.... He is on the one dollar bill..... ummmmm. Is there a third thing that he is famous for?" Poor thing looks so confused!

  "The Revolutionary War. Mount Rushmore. Crossing the Delaware River..... Just to name a couple more for you. My advice is to stop shopping and partying all the time and go back to school. A job wouldn't hurt either. My next question is for you." I look at her worthless father. "What are you doing here? My first hour back home, I am walking through the mare barn. Ashley was just finishing a twelve hour day. Then she got a phone call from you. You told her to come home and when she refused, you called her a bitch and hung up."

  "Well I came to get Ashley to come home. I see now why she wouldn't want to. I'm just at my wits end with all of the bills. Ashley is the one kid that is responsible."

  "She had to be! You abandoned her." Trace is getting pissed.

  "My suggestion to you is cut all of the strings attached to your wallet. Don't make Ashley pay for what others do. Doc Ashley is happy here and will stay here as long as she wants. We will get married Saturday and I can't wait. Doc Ashley is awesome in everything she does. She doesn't deserve to be treated as an outcast or a bank."

  I look at Daniel. Poor pitiful Daniel. "Why are you here?"

  "My wife wanted to see her sister. We want our daughter to know her aunt Ashley."

  "You treated her like shit too! You raped her knowing that you were sleeping with her sister. That is enough to get an ass-kicking by itself."

   "I did not rape her!"

  "Did she tell you no? Did she try to push you away?"

  "Well yeah, but then she relented and laid there. She gave me what I wanted."

  "Her virginity! If a woman says no, and you continue, that is rape! She quit fighting because it was useless. You raped her and then went go sleep with her sister!" He paled. "I don't know where you guys came from, but I'm happy that Ashley isn't like you. You are on notice as of right now. You hurt Ashley and I will kick your asses all the way back to Mississippi. My woman is to be respected and loved. Anything less is unacceptable. Got it?"
