Chapter 1
Numb
Darkness.
Thats what you see when your eyes are closed, or when your in a really dark place. I woke up, but my eyes still shut. All I remembered where a jumble of feelings and images, running, pain, fear, laughter with the smell of fresh rain.
Checking to see if I could move, I felt everything around me, moist, wet. I felt fine, confused and disoriented, standing upright, I felt the dirt attached to my back cry out from the movement. No pain, but why did I feel hurt so much.
Reaching up to touch my face I saw the mascara I had put on earlier running. Somehow I just started crying, either from solitude or dismay, I poured my heart out. The rain mixing with the new tears on my face.
This can't be my imagination, or else how could I possibly have gotten here? Something happened last night. I wouldn't just imagine myself being chased and hunted, then wake up the next day in the spot I was cornered.
Few minutes later, I calm down. Feeling terribly depressed as if taken advantaged of, I had no idea what happened last night, or how I came to be in this place. I couldn't of thought. Hmm, let me take a stroll and sleep here for the night.
Shaking my head of those thoughts, I pulled myself together, my my hair attaching itself to my face. Another wave of fresh tears started to form on my eyes, staring up, I hid them.
Looking around I saw, raindrops on trees and branches, the leaves especially. The sky a mixture of dark grey and white patches of clouds, covering the city. Everything a bit darker and gloomy for a Saturday. It's Saturday, right?
With shaky feet I managed to stand up, having to smack my legs because they fell asleep. My heels sunk in the wet grass, deciding to slip them off, I started walking off away from this place. Brushing the dirt off me, I felt wet all over, my clothes cold, clinging to me.
My jacket a dead weight on myself, I shuffled it off and felt pounds lighter. Keeping my phone, keys, money, etc. with me. Some how I managed to have a small smile on my face.
Although, I may not be bruised or cut I didn't just imagine last night, how else would you explain it?
Finally reaching the pavement on the park, I slipped my shoes back on, walking in the direction I thought to be the exit. Thank god, no one was around or else how was I suppose to explain, coming out of the woods wet, dirtied, a massive hole on my shirt-WAIT!
Stopping, I exaimed the opening, shocked. On my right side, the edges had small red splotches, it took me seconds to realize it was blood. It wasn't a dream.
This is real.
Eyes wide, I tried hiding it inside my shirt, as if I could make it all go away, frustrated it didn't work, so I left it alone.
Whats going on?!
Angry and frustrated, I was determined to find my way out of this mess and get away from here. The trees whispering amungst each other, as if I could hear them saying, 'leave', another said, 'run.' But where? I can't believe I'm actually doing this.
A gust of wind pushed my back, as if I didn't get the message.
Okay, I'll leave, sheesh!
