Chapter 13 : Elevator Ride of Terror

The trio stepped into the elevator as the doors slid closed slowly.

Crimson Storm inspected the many rows of elevator floor buttons.

Now where could Doomskull be hiding my family?

She thought.

She scanned the row of buttons closest to her eye level, until she noticed a button marked "Ballroom".

"That's it!"

"The ballroom is certainly big enough to hide in!"

Crimson Storm exclaimed out loud.

Phantom Girl and Cobalt Bullet looked at her.

"Are you sure he has them there?"

Phantom Girl questioned.

Crimson Storm nodded.

"I'm sure."

She said, as she pressed the button for the ballroom floor.

The button lit up with a blue light and the elevator creaked and began to move upwards.

The slow ascent to the ballroom was quiet, until the elevator suddenly stopped, and a loud banging sound echoed above the three heroes.

"What the hell was that!"

Crimson Storm exclaimed.

No one replied, as a new sound hit the elevator's roof.

Three sets of feet shook the elevator, followed by heavy blows from a series of punches thudding against the elevator roof hatch.

The three heroes dared not to move or speak, as the hatch was dented and twisted by an unknown assailant as the final blow destroyed the hatch.

The twisted metal hatch was thrown onto the elevator floor, as it were a piece of tinfoil and it landed by Crimson Storm's feet.

" Well hello Crimson Storm we finally meet!"

A male voice cackled.

And then, three costumed figures leapt through the open roof hatch one by one.

The trio of heroes slowly backed away, as the villains came closer.

"Who are you people?"

Crimson Storm managed to say, despite the fear welling inside her.

The leader of the three villains stepped even closer.

He wore a black and gray jumpsuit, complete with a hooded cowl that covered everything except his nose and mouth. The cowl also was designed to look like the head of a snake complete with ice blue lenses.

The man grinned wickedly.

" I am Kython."

"And together my friends and I are The Predator Elite."

He said.

Crimson Storm glared at him, her fear subsiding as she moved away from the elevator doors.

"What's so elite about you?"

She asked.

Kython laughed.

"How about we show you?"

He said.

And then he charged at her and grabbed her by the throat before she could even react.

Crimson Storm cried out as she was slammed into the elevator doors by the vicious Kython, denting and warping the metal.

"Doomskull ordered us not to kill you, but he allowed me to serve some punishment for what you did to Black Viper."

"My darling younger sister!"
he hissed.

Crimson Storm tried to break free from the vise-like grip of Kython.

"Y-your sister!?"
"I thought she was a loner."

She rasped.

Kython's grip tightened as the elevator doors creaked from the added pressure, bending the metal further.

"I'm going to make you suffer, as your friends watch."

"And I'm going to make you feel like my sister did when you let her fall to her death!"

He snarled.

Cobalt Bullet and Phantom Girl moved to help Crimson Storm, but Kython shot them a vicious glare.

"Back off, Super Twerps!"
"One more step and I pop your friends head like a watermelon!"
he growled.

The two heroes dared not to move as the villain turned to his associates.

"Take them to Doomskull, Crimson Storm is mine."

He ordered.

Emperor Tiger and She-Wolf nodded silently and grabbed the heroes before they could react and forced them up to the elevator hatch and onto the roof.

The two villains then removed black grappling guns from their belts with one hand while restraining their prisoners with the other.

They pointed the guns into the air and the lines tightened as they were secured, and they were pulled quickly upward towards one of the upper levels of Crimson Tower.

Now that left Crimson Storm to deal with Kython alone.

"I'm going to enjoy this!"

The villain cackled.

Crimson Storm glared at him.

"Not as much as I am!"

She said, as she quickly powered up.

With her electrified fists she threw a punch into Kython's face.

The sudden blow made him stumble back and loosen his grip on her.

Kython regained his balance and put a hand to his throbbing face.

"That actually hurt, no one has ever hit me that hard."

"I'm almost ashamed of taking you to Doomskull."

"Oh well."

He said, as he charged at her.

Crimson Storm quickly dodged, making the villain slam into the dented elevator doors.

The extra impact destroyed the metal and the door fell into the shaft below, as well as Kython.

Crimson Storm peered down to the elevator shaft.

"Have a nice fall."

She said.

She then turned away to use the elevator, but an unseen force pulled her down to the floor near the edge of doorless space.

"Nice try Crimson Bitch, you can't get rid of me so easily."

A voice said.

And then, the form of Kython suddenly appeared on top of her.

Crimson Storm struggled to get free, looking up at the villain as he sat on her chest.

"You really thought I'd fall to my death?"

"No, I was able to get on the roof and I cloaked myself just like my sister can."
he said as he pulled her face to his.

"There's no use in fighting me now, I'm far more superior compared to you."

And before she could retort, with snake-like speed he punched her in the face and knocked her out.
