The walk to the lake was shorter than I remembered. I saw Pedro on the way there. Oh yeah, I haven't told you about Pedro. He's a stray dog that appears anywhere in our neighborhood any time of day. No one actually pays attention to him whatsoever. Me and Cameron always beg my mom to keep him but she keeps refusing.
Now, I'm in the deep forest like area that leads to the hidden lake. I can already hear giggling and chattering coming from a distance. I must be close.
I continued walking fast until...I bumped into someone. I bumped into them so hard that I fell on my literal ass.
"I-I am so sorry!"
I look up and see the familiar face of Louis Partridge.
"It's alright" I chuckled and held my hand out for him to grab. He grabbed it and pulled me up, and now we're less than 3 inches apart from each other. Our noses almost touching and his soft hair is touching my forehead.
"Uh-" I giggled as I parted away from him. "Sorry" he chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.
"I didn't think you'd come" I changed the subject.
"Yeah I mean, I had nothing else to do so..."
He rocks his feet back and forth and stared at anywhere else but me. He's a lot more awkward than the first time we met.
"Hey shitheads!!" We heard voices from afar. We turned and saw the group chilling by a cliff. "Over here!"
We smiled at each other once more and walked towards the group. "Sorry I'm late guys, I had to feed my goldfish" I lied.
"Mhmm well you came at the right time, Andrew was just about to jump off" Aaliyah points over to Andrew. Everyone was already in their bathing suits. Except me and Louis ofc.
The lake was below the cliff. It wasn't that high up but it was perfect to jump off of.
