Nightmares

Note: This is kind of set when they're kind of dating. They like to touch each other 😏 haha just kidding not in that way lmao.

Thomas's POV

I'm terrified of being stuck in here forever. I need to get out. As soon as possible.

I crawl into my hammock for the night and fall asleep. Being a Runner can be very tiring, but I keep doing it because I need to get out of here. I know there is another world out there, and I need to get there.

I fall into a deep sleep and go into a dream. I look around the Glade. I see bodies, everywhere.

I run to the nearest one. Chuck, oh no...

I scan the perimeter. All of my friends's bodies, everywhere. Dead.

I slowly start to cry. These people had actual families that are wondering where they are right now. They say to others, "well I know that my son will come home one day."

But now they don't even have a chance. Their families will be waiting forever.

I scan the perimeter some more until I see the one body that breaks my heart.

Newt.

My sweet Newt.

Newt was one of the first people to be nice to me. And we've become great friends. And I even started to have feelings for him...

I ran over to his body, I looked at his lifeless, brown eyes. I brush my fingers into his hair, and my lip starts to tremble.

I fall apart and sob into his chest violently. I hug his dead body, never wanting to let go.

This is all I have of him. He's gone.

My Newt, my baby Newt.

I look up from his chest, and stare at his face. I move my head up so I can kiss his lips. I cry into the kiss.

He's gone.

I wake up crying and screaming his name. Newt was standing beside me, he seemed to be shaking me.

"Tommy! Bloody hell! You're screaming louder than bloody Ben did!" he said.

"S-sorry, I just had a bad dream.." I said, feeling my cheeks get hot of embarrassment.

"Oh, it's okay. What was it about?" he asked kindly.

I explained the whole dream to him, then looked down at the end of it, biting my bottom lip to stop myself from crying. This was so embarrassing.

"Aw, Tommy. It was just a buggin' dream. Nothing to be worried about. I'm here for you now." Newt said, then opened his arms welcoming me into a hug.

I hugged him, tightly. He put his hand in my hair and ruffled it a bit. This was comforting, and nice.

My head was on his chest. He smelled nice, something like-

My thoughts were interrupted by a yelling Minho.

"WHAT THE SHUCK ARE YOU LOVEBIRDS DOING!?! GET SOME SLEEP YA SHANKS. STOP FRICKLE FRACKLING AND GET SOME REST YOU'RE WAKING US ALL UP."

Newt and I laughed and blushed at Minho's yelling.

"Well, I guess I should go now before Minho buggin' goes off again." Newt said, starting to get up but I stopped him.

"Can you, um, s-sleep with me by any chance?" I asked, blushing like mad. He smiled and smirked.

"Sure, why bloody not? But take off your shirt."

I blushed but smirked back, "you too."

We both took our shirts off and he joined me in my hammock. He ruffled my hair and I moved my hand up and down his back.

Then we started cuddling each other.

"For a pair of buggin' friends we sure like to touch each other." Newt said, smirking at me.

"Friends with benefits." I said, a familiar phrase that was in the back of my head but wasn't too sure what it meant.

"Oh shuck, not like that!" Newt said, laughing.

That's when I remembered what it meant and smirked.

"That's the next step in our relationship." I said. He laughed.

For the rest of the night we cuddled and talked. Not very manly, but we cuddled and I liked it, so who cares?

I should get nightmares more often.
