Hope woke up groggy disappointed that Alaric would let Landon stay. She looked down and over to left to see Nik jump out of his bed. He was sweating and panting while pacing back and forth on the verge of tears. Hope got up to comfort him, he had a bad dream. Ever since their parents died Nik would have nightmares about it. Nik saw Hope standing up, he froze. He stopped what he was doing and wiped his tears. "Hey hope." He said cheerfully. "Are you ok?" She asked. The smile off his face disappeared. "Yea I'm ok we should probably get ready though, we have that assembly today." He said while grabbing some clothes out of the closet to go shower. Once the two were done getting ready they headed down to the auditorium.

They got there and Nik made eye contact with Josie. He got butterflies in his stomach that he so desperately wanted to go away. He sat down with Hope and paid no more attention to Josie. "We have something very important to discuss...." Alaric said then he explained everything about the monsters and that they had to be prepared, Nik practilly fell asleep if it wasn't for Hope. "Now sheriff Donovan." This caught Niks attention. Matt Donovan got on stage to speak, "Thank you Alaric. Now anyways. Two girls from mystic falls have went missing, Dana and Sophia. This is usual for Dana since she likes to skip for a few days and party but this is a first for Sophia. So Ric and I have came up with an idea to send some of you guys to Mystic falls for a day. You are aloud to compel and anything worse as long as it's not harmful to father intel. If you would like to volunteer raise your hand now." He finally finished. Lizzies hand shot up almost instantly " I will, because that's what a true hero does." "Puts up a barrier spell and all of sudden she's mother Teresa" Nik said while snickering to Hope she laughed back. Then Mg then kalebs. Then Hopes. "I volunteer as tribute." She said whilst standing up. Nik couldn't let her do this alone, he heard Lizzie snicker then spoke up "me too." Then that was it.

They got off the bus at the mystic falls high school. Hope was not happy, Alaric made Landon come because he went here before he moved to Atlanta. You could tell Lizzie was trying to make and epic entrance, and it seemed to be working because the football team was eyeing her down. Nik had to admit Lizzie was attractive other than her bitchy attitude. But Niks type was more so soft, kind, and brunette. As he was thinking this he realized he was describing Josie. All of sudden he saw Landon run into Lizzie ruining her epic entance. Nik and Hope saw this and laughed but in return received a glare from Lizzie before she started scolding Landon. They started to form into groups. MG and Lizzie. Kaleb went off stating he worked better alone. So that meant Nik and Hope would have to split up and Landon would go with Hope. Nik started to work his way in with the baseball team. He hated to leave Hope with bird boy but knew it was for the best. They all walked into school together. Nik and Hope had 1st period together. They walked in and the teacher introduced them. Connor was in there too but by now he knew not to mess with Nik or Hope.

Nik and Hope went and sat down. The class was EXTREMELY easy for them since Salvatore taught it already and it was History and their family lived through all these events and have told them about it. At last the bell rang and Hope met up Landon. The day went fast and at last it was lunch. Nik found the Baseball team and sat with them. He talked all about baseball and they liked him. It was going good until he saw everyone meeting outside. Nik went and joined Kaleb, Lizzie, Hope, MG, and Landon. Apparently, Kaleb had been feeding on humans. Kaleb vamp sped away before Lizzie froze him siphoning MG. "Not so fast Kaleb. Come on it's hero time." She said. Nik laughed and Hope followed her "To the blonde mobile." Hope said. They were confronting Kaleb when they saw Dana walking out of the woods.

They had assumed Kaleb had killed her and left her in the woods after Donovan and Alaric found her dead in the woods earlier that afternoon. But they were all surprised when Dana came walking out of the woods. They saw her, more importantly her neck. Dana came and sat down. "So you didn't kill her, you freaking TURNED her?" Lizzie asked impatiently , Nik smiled at the blonde, luckily she didn't notice. "Yea because you think I want to listen to that for all eternity." Kaleb aid while eating jerky. "We'll know we have a transitioning vampire on our hands." Hope said looking at Kaleb. Dana felt her neck she looked shocked as she asked them what it was. "Um i-it's-its a- somebody help me out here.@ Nik nodded. "It's the mother of all hickey's, your fine Dana just a little slutty that's all." Nik covered for Hope ever since they were kids Hope has been terrible at lying and Nik always had to save theirselves.
