"Hope, are you excited for this year?" Nik said as they laid in their beds at there aunt Freya's. " I don't know, this is going to be our first year since, mom and dad..." They both got lost in thought of what happened and why their parents sacrificed themselves as they both fell asleep.

It was know 8:00 in the morning and Nik had woke up by his little cousin, Elijah, jumping on him. Nik woke Hope up since it was their first day at Salvatore. They had to be to mystic falls at 12:00. As Nik and Hope got ready they left the house. They unfortunately had to listen to Keelins lecture about being able to control the wolf genes while Freya lectures them about being witch, and not getting into trouble. After a horrifying 3 hour ride they were at the school. Freya, keelin wife bye as Elijah just frantically shaking his hand in the air saying "bye bye bye bye". Hope and Nik sat in the auditorium while Ric, Dr. Saltzman, welcomed the new students.

They watched as kids got sorted into their houses. Apparently Ric was a fan of Harry Potter and had the four houses for them to be assigned to. Both Nik and Hope had gotten into Slytherin, although, the hat stated that it was hard choice between gryffndor and Slytherin. Nik's heart sunk as Josie Saltzman walked in, he has had feelings for her ever since he was 12. They did play 7 minutes in 8th grade and he made out with her and he had moments with her in freshmen year before his parent death, but that was besides the point. Nik was the popular, hot Trybrid. Yea he's dated a few girls but that was only for distraction after his parent death. Hope however, put her distractions into art. As everyone knew Nik was good at sports and school. But he secretly also had a talent for music and sketching. Josie was in Gryffyndor along with Lizzie. The Mikaelson and the Saltzman twins were the set of twins that everyone knew.

Hope usually stuck with witch gang, while Nik hung with the wolf gang. Jed was their Alpha, Nik could easily kick his ass if he wanted to. None the less people said Hope was more like mom, while Nik was like Klaus. Other than hair. Nik and blondish brownish hair while Hope had auburn hair. Back to the point, Nik watched as Josie walked in and sat down. Him and Josie made eye contact for a hot second before he smirked and turned away. He couldn't be soft, his dad wouldn't have sacrificed himself for him just for home to be emotional.

Josies POV:
As I walked into the auditorium I made direct eye contact with Nik Mikaelson. Sooner or later he smirked then turned away to talk to Hope. I felt butterflies in my stomach. Did I really have thing for Nik Mikaelson? The badboy? The boy gwho girls were all over? I realized what I was thinking about and shut it out of mind. Lizzie would not approve of this, the Mikaelson twins, in her words not mine, "Stole our dad from us " and " Made us feel like we don't matter" Josie couldn't let Lizzie down she agreed to shut Nik out of her mind.

After the ceremony was over with, they all went to eat. They headed to the dining room to get food. Nik decided not to sit with the pack but sit with his friends instead. He sat with MG, Kaleb, and Hope. The Saltzman twins were sitting a table away from them with Josie turned towards Nik. Him and Josie made eye contact once again, butterflies in both there stomachs. Nik remembered. He can't have feelings for her, his grandpa would call him weak. Although Nik had never actually met his grandfather, he was still worried what he would think. So he decided to play hard to get, he smirked then looked away.

"What are looking at?" Lizzie said sort of aggressively to Josie. "Um, er, nothing , nothing important". Lizzie then looked where Josie was looking at just a moment ago. She didn't see anything, or anyone for that matter. Then she saw it, Nik Mikaelson. " Don't tell me you like Nik" she said to Josie as she made a disgusted face. "Ew no, but you did in 6 grade didn't you?" She said while half giggling. She noticed Nik looking at her.

He saw Josie giggling it was the cutest thing he'd ever seen. He had no idea what she was talking about but he enjoyed whatever it was. He started half -smiling. Then she saw him, Josie saw him he hurried stopped smiling, worried that she might of saw. And, I think she
did. She just smiled back at me to which I sort of smiled back then turned towards Hope.

Once Nik and Hope were in their dorm. Hope had already got dressed for bed. Nik didn't so he got dressed. As he was putting on a hoodie Hope saw something unbelievable. "Nik, what the hell is that?!" She said pointing to his side next to his v-line. He flushed, his cheeks went bright red. He looked at her, then back at it, then back at her. " Um so, after dad died and we inherited all his money, I sort of forget his signature and got a tattoo " he said while pulling on his hoodie. "How have I not noticed?" She said while staring at the Mikaelson crest "ummmmm I don't know, but, do you want ice cream and binge Harry Potter?" She replied with " sure but you are going and getting it. He came back got in bed with her and they watched Harry Potter while eating ice cream.
