A Story of Betrayal

The dreams

"Hey Lime can I sit with you?" I asked as I got to the table. "Yeah of course" He said smiling. I sat down and we both started eating. About half way through he asked "Did you have any weird dreams last night?" "Yeah" I said shocked, because I didn't know how he could know "Did you?" "I had a dream about the impostor winning." he said looking down at his food with a slight mixture of sadness and fear on his face. "Me too I said." with probably the same expression, maybe a bit of shock mixed in. "Maybe It's a coincident" I quickly said trying to rationalize. "I hope so." He said opening his salad. We finished eating in silence, thinking about it being some sort of vision of the future. Each trying to convince ourselves that it didn't mean anything. 

"We should find Cyan." I suggested getting up. "Their in security." Lime stated "I saw them heading there earlier." "Oh... well we should head there then." I say starting to walk toward the hallway with Lime. 

"So did you sleep the rest of the night?" he asked randomly as we walked. "Yeah" I lied not wanting him to know that me and Cherry broke the agreement. "Why do you ask?" "After the nightmare I woke up, and it took for ever to get back to sleep. I was just wondering if you had the same problem." he answered putting on the hood of his light green jacket. "Well I did wake up after but it was pretty easy for me to go back to sleep." I say not wanting to tell a total lie. "Our dreams seem really similar. Maybe later we could tell each other what happened in more detail. If you feel comfortable with that." He said as we reached security. 

Cyan was in fact in there working on the cameras. They were wearing a slightly lighter jacket with different pins. "Hi guys I'm almost finished with these." They said pulling out wires, to fix them, from the camera set up. "I should also finish the wires here." I say starting to fix the security wires. "Did you have a strange dream last night?" Lime asked Cyan most likely trying to figure out if the dreams really were a coincident or something else. "I had a nightmare about the killer, did you have a nightmare too or something?" They responded looking concerned. "We both did." I responded before Lime could. If Cyan had the exact same dream it probably wasn't just chance. "It's really strange that we all had the same dream, but it could be caused by the trial. The fear that knowing a murderer could be among us may be causing the nightmares." Cyan suggested a reasonable answer, even though their face showed they were scared and trying to hide it. "That's probably the case" I say wanting to accept their explanation instead of thinking further into it. Lime just stood in place looking like he was deep in thought. "I really  hope it's not some sort of vision." Lime finally said. "Don't say that." Me and Cyan said at the same time, already scared and not wanting anything to make it worse. "Sorry" Lime said still looking like he was thinking of other possibilities for the dreams. "Lets just drop this." Cyan said said and then tried to change the subject. "Lemon what tasks do you have left?" "Maybe we're just all connected though dreams, since we're friends." I say still concerned about the nightmare. "Maybe..." Lime said finally dropping it.

"I have a task in reactor" I said heading across the hallway. "Next we should go to the upper engine, I have a task there." Lime suggested. "I also have a task there." I said starting the reactor. I'd have to wait for it to process the code before we could leave. "How long do you think It'll take to fix the ship?" Cyan asked neither of us in particular. "Hopefully not that long." I said right as the code processed. We headed to the upper engine. When we got there I did the engine aligning task and we talked about random things. Then we went to med bay because it was close, and both me and Cyan had tasks there. 

Cherry and the girl in a white dress and coat were already in there. "Hi Lemon."  Cherry said with a smile. "Hi Cherry" I say returning the smile. "What task are you doing?"  I say, I was talking with Cherry, Cyan and Lime were talking to the white haired girl. "I'm helping Coconut inspect samples that Orange collected outside the ship. It could help us figure out who sabotaged it. What task are you doing?" "I came here to do scan." I said hoping onto the machine and starting it. A green laser ring began to rise from the bottom of the machine. It fell and rose again two more times before the information came up on the screen. "Well that also proves you're not the impostor." Coconut said placing their test tubs back in the cabinet. "Yeah." I say, every one knows I'm not the impostor and I know no one in this room is either. "I'm sorry I have to bring this up one more time." Lime said and then asked Coconut and Cherry "Did either of you have a nightmare about the impostor?" "Yeah." Coconut said looking suddenly scared, probably thinking about what it could have meant. "Where the impostor won and the ship was on fire." "I also had a dream like that." Cherry said pulling he hood further so it covered her eyes "That's why I woke up like an hour and a half after I went to sleep." "It can't be coincidence that all of us had the same exact dream." Lime said. "If it's some sort of prophecy then we have to stop it. Right?" Coconut said in a way that made it seem obvious and like we were dumb for not thinking of it.
