Humming a soft tune to myself, I stand outside the twins classroom, ready to pick them up after enduring a rather long day at school. A big smile playing on my lips as I fiddle with the hem of my shirt. Ready to just take the boys home, get them into their comfy clothes and cook them a nice whole meal. My heart swelling with joy as I look toward my phone and scroll through the array of messages Katsuki has sent me since Friday. The pair of us talking from early in the morning until late at night, talking about anything and everything.I couldn't believe how amazing it's been...
Still riding from a high from Friday, I can't help sway the smile playing on my lips as I lean against the wall behind me and wave toward the twins through the window as they grin toward me with sparkles in their eyes. Their excitement coming at me in waves as they hastily grab their bags when their teacher allows her class to get ready to go home.
As the door to the classroom opens, I push myself off the wall and into the view of the teacher so the twins could see me properly. A smile playing on my lips as the twins point toward me to signal to their teacher that I'm here to pick them up before laughing as they both race toward me and hug my legs. Their heterochromic eyes glimmering with happiness as I ruffle their hair and hold them close for a quick squeeze before letting them head toward the car with me in tow.
"You two had a good day?" I ask, opening the car door for them and helping them into their car seats while they nod happily and let me buckle them in gently, "What did you get up to today then, boys? Anything exciting?"
"We learnt about rainforests today!" Ryoku chirps happily, smiling brightly as I slide into the drivers seat and turn the ignition on with a small hum, "And! And! And we also got to learn how to paint! I painted a picture of a big dinosaur!"
"Wow!" I coo, giggling as Ryoku nods happily with a big grin while he plays with his Dynamight action figure and making him fly through the air, "What about you, Kōri? What did you get up to sweetie?"
"Uh... I drew a picture of a butterfly," Kōri says softly, looking toward me through the rear view mirror before laughing as I stick my tongue out at him, "Why didn't you pick us up Friday?"
"Yeah! Uncle Toya, (Y/n)! He can't even cook as good as you!" Ryoku complains making me laugh and shake my head as I turn into a junction and roll down the motorway, "Plus, it was so boring! Hiro wasn't even there!"
"Oh yeah? Where was he sweetie?" I ask looking at them through the mirror as I slide down the road and drive to the Todoroki estate, "Was he with his mom?"
"No, he was with Eri," Kōri replies softly, fiddling with the cape of his Deku action figure making me smile gently as I indicate to leave the motorway and drive into the town that the boys live in, "It was just Uncle Toya..."
"Well he's fun isn't he?" I ask, sliding into the driveway of the Todoroki estate and turning the ignition off when the car is safely parked on the drive, "I'm assuming you had takeout,"
"Well yeah!" Ryoku says, giggling as I help him out of his car seat and ruffle his hair when his feet plant onto the gravel of the driveway before watching me as I pull Kōri out of the car too, "So? Where were you? Huh? You tell us now or we'll never speak to you again!"
"Don't say that," Kōri says tapping his brothers arm with a small pout making me laugh gently and unlock the front door to let them into their home, "We won't get yummy meals if we don't talk to her, Ryoku!"
"Oh yeah... poop..." Ryoku mumbles, pouting to himself before rushing off to his playroom and coming out with a toy sword and pointing it toward me, "Tell us now or you can't play dragons and knights with us! We'll get mama to be the princess, instead!"
