Chapter 26

Resting against the backrest of the passenger seat of Katsuki's car, I send Katsuki a small giggle as he rests a hand on my thigh while he drives. The male squeezing it every so often chasing little laughs and smiles from my lips as I lace my hand with his and kiss his cheek. The pair of us happily enjoying each other's company. Every now and then Katsuki would chuckle whenever I stick my tongue out at him or squeeze his hand harder than he did mine. Despite having to have his eyes on the road, Katsuki would steal little glance toward me with a smirk.

After Shoto and Katsuki decided to throw a little banter here and there for the past twenty minutes, Katsuki and I finally made our way toward Mina's house. From what Katsuki has told me, about twice a month, the 'Bakusquad' as they deem themselves according to my boyfriend have a get together. It's basically where they all catch up, play stupid games and just be themselves without having to worry about hero work or paperwork or anything else. Each month they hold it at different houses, so Katsuki hosted last month now Mina and her husband are hosting this month.

Mina's husband : Red Riot!

Clad in my Dynamight hoodie that Katsuki practically made me wear instead of my Red Riot hoodie, I lean back against the backrest of the seat and take a deep breath. Almost trying to psyche myself up for what's about to happen and trying to make sure that I won't embarrass myself this evening. Every now and then, trying to ground myself, I squeeze Katsuki's hand tighter than usual which would making him squeeze back.

Knowing that he understands how I'm feeling, it calms me. He knows that I'm anxious about meeting his friends. He knows that I am close to ripping my hair out over this whole ordeal. Not only are they pro heroes (and one of them is my all time favourite) but they're also Katsuki's friends. They all hold him really close to their hearts and they look out for him even if he doesn't want them too. They're his second family, practically. So if I make a bad first impression, their opinion of me is going to be trash mixed with fire and shit.

Mina has told me how close her husband (Red Riot) and Katsuki are. That Katsuki is someone that Red Riot holds extremely close to his heart. Someone that he trusts. Someone that he goes to for advice (even if he thinks asking for advice is beneath him). Someone that he would probably die for! Mina tells me that they have been inseparable ever since high school. She tells me that they have been like two peas in a pod ever since they met. That Katsuki and Red Riot are practically brothers at this point with how close they are. So not only is Red Riot my favourite hero, he's also my biggest critic so I have to make a good impression.

I just hope they all like me...

Noticing my anxious behaviour, Katsuki squeezes my hand to pull me out of my head making me look toward hi NBC and clear my throat gently. A weak smile plays on my lips before I look down at my lap and take a deep breath. My eyes closing as I try to hype myself up. Telling myself that I can do this. That I don't need to worry about them all because I know that I make Katsuki happy. Knowing that I can't do anything wrong because I'm constantly making sure that Katsuki is happy despite him reassuring me that he'll never be mad at me unless I give him a real legitimate reason for him to get mad.

When Katsuki turns the car into the driveway to park up, my hand squeezes his incredibly tightly making him chuckle. As the ignition turns off, my breath gets quicker. My chest tightening as I see everyone through the front window all smiling and laughing between each other. My throat closing up as I look back down at my lap and dig my nails in my palms. However, before I can actually do that, Katsuki takes my hands into his and kisses each knuckle making me blush and clear my throat.

"Deep breaths," Katsuki instructs gently making me nod and take a deep breath. A small smile on his lips as he guides me through some breathing exercises before kissing my nose, "They will love you and you have Mina and Kyoka there too so you're not surrounded by people you don't know,"
