Everything was black. Charlotte could hear thunder, the crackling of lightning, and the howling wind, but she could see nothing.

She felt trapped in the shadows, her senses dissipating one by one.

Suddenly, she saw piercing blue eyes within the darkness. They were as bright as the summer sky, and as cold as ice, yet still warm in it's unique way. The color intensified, and her own eyes instantly snapped open.

Charlotte sat up with a groan, clutching her pounding head that felt like it weighed one-hundred bricks.

The curtains were open which allowed blinding sunlight to spill into the Barracks.

Each bed was empty, which was rather unusual for Charlotte because usually she was the first one awake.

She remembered the icy blue eyes in her dream. Who were they? Why did she see them in her dream?

Whoever they were, they had to be of significance.

They looked hard and masculine, but caring and strong at the same time.

Charlotte shook away the thought.

I'll deal with it later.

She carefully stood, catching her balance. Then, putting on her camp shirt and jeans, she strapped her sword to her side and ran out of the Barracks.
