It's been two weeks since the job interview and ever since then I've been busy like never before.
Mr Queen required me to be here at eight thirty because as his P.A it meant that I had to do some extra work. Like, staying longer than needed, getting more files to look through, taking every call for him and also most importantly, always be available for him 24/7 because you may never know when an emergency is happening.
I would usually be ten minutes earlier at the company than I needed to be and mr Queen was kind enough to buy me a work phone. That phone is strictly work related and only has the numbers of his business associates and himself.
There were several times where mr Queen asked me to come back to the company to sort a problem out or sent him an important file in the middle of the night.
Not that I'm complaining now, but my sleeping schedule is getting out of control. I always head to bed very late and need to get up early.
Rosie got quite concerned when she once caught me still working in the living room at one am but I assured her that I have been sleeping before and only woke up because of a quick call.
Thalia on the other hand always told her I was old enough and that my new job required my sleeping schedule to be inconsistent. Rosie was obviously still not very approving of it but let it go soon after.
"Here is the file you asked for, mr Queen and as a reminder, you have a call with Mrs. Lancer in ten minutes about the negotiation from last week," I let him know and placed the asked-file beside him just like any other.
Mr Queen was currently busy typing a few things on his computer. Today he wore a gray suit and right now he had his blazer off and had curled the both of his dress shirt sleeves to his elbow.
His hair was styled back, letting his forehead make an appearance. And must I say, he looked very handsome like this.
"Is there anything else, miss Grace?" I quickly came back to reality and cleared my throat, "yes, sir. Your mother called again and asked when you would be home."
During the last two weeks where I've been working for him, his mother probably already called around ten times a week to ask about him. Whether he ate or finished his work or when he could come home.
If I'm being honest, it kinda made me miss my parents back in Austria. Yes, that's right, my parents live on another continent because after I had my degree, I decided to move to LA to pursue my dream job.
Of course, I could have stayed back and also found my dream job there, but I always wanted to live somewhere, where English was the native language. In Austria, that would be German.
Anyways, back to reality.
Mr Queen sighed, rubbed his temple a few times and nodded his head, "thank you for the information."
"No problem," I replied and was on my way out now when he called my name. I halted on my heels and turned around to face him while still clutching the iPad in my hands.
Mr Queen didn't only provide me a phone, but also an iPad to make it easier for me to do his schedule and write down notes.
Though I did tell him it wasn't necessary or needed because I'm pretty capable of doing all of these in my own notebooks, he insisted.
"You're free to go for tonight, miss Grace. It's already late and there's pretty much nothing else for you to do today," I glanced at my watch and realized it was only five minutes to seven pm.
Confused, I questioned, "but mr Queen, it's only seven pm?" Don't get me wrong, getting off work this early would be extremely nice but also confusing because the only times I went home before nine was my first day at work and when mr Queen had an emergency at home.
