Chapter 6 - Drivers vs Locals

10:00 p.m. Safehouse. Letty & Adena went into the safehouse as they saw us building a Blue Toyota Supra. "Guys, what are you doing?" Letty asked. "It's a car we found at an abandoned Safehouse." I answered. "Okay, but who's car is that?" Letty asked. "It used to be Branden's but now it's Ellie's." Nikki answered. "So why did you bring the car back?" Adena asked. "Well... I figured that I wanted to give the car to her since she is connected to it and she wanted to use it against the driver we're going up against." I answered. They were working on the car as it was already restored but the modifications for the car were the same but fixed. "Okay, she's done. She's all your's Ellie." Yumi said as she closes the hood of the Supra and hands the keys to Ellie. "Well. She looks like the same as before but she seems to be better." Nikki replied as she looks at the Supra's refining looks as it becomes more glorious than it was in the past. "Well. Let's take her for a spin." Ellie suggested as she and Yumi got in the Supra as they were about to head for the downhill battle. "Well are you sure about this?" Adena asked. "They'll be fine. She's going to use it against her opponent." Nikki answered. Highway 142. Ellie was on the highway driving on her way to Deadfall Junction. "Hey Ellie, what are we taking the highway for?" Yumi asked. "Courtney gave me a choice. She told me she can pick any course I wanted." Ellie answered. "That was nice of her so what did you pick?" Yumi asked. "I settled it on Deadfall Junction." Ellie answered. "You did what?? Don't you know that Courtney's home turf??" Yumi asked as she exclaimed. 1 hour later. Deadfall Junction. The Supra was parked in the middle of the road as Ellie looks at the course from the far point of view as she sees how many corners are there and finding the braking point. A few minutes later. She parks at the starting line as Courtney appears and parks her car in front of the Supra. She gets out of the car as well as Ellie and Yumi getting out of the Supra. "So, you finally found this course huh?" Courtney asked. "Well I figured this would be your home turf. You ain't gonna take what's mine." Ellie answered. "We'll see about that." Courtney replied. "Here's the bet. If Ellie wins, she keeps Branden. You back off. But if you want, you can steal him. Deal?" Yumi asked. "Deal." Courtney answered. "Ellie, may I take shotgun on this one? I can't stand in this mountain pass by myself." Yumi asked. "Okay. Let's go." Ellie answered as she and Yumi got in the Supra while Courtney got in her MR-2 as they were about to begin the downhill run. The race is between the Supra and the MR-2 is about to begin as they launched off the start fast. They started off from the first corner coming into the chicane section. Once they passed the chicanes, they were heading into the tunnel. Ellie accelerates hard as she's keeping up with the MR-2 after passing the tunnel and moving onto the curve sections as well as passing into the long bend. After the bend, they were coming into a straight and a series of hairpins. The MR-2 was braking early and taking the corner. As soon as Ellie was about to catch up and take the braking point, she slams on the brakes and takes the corner faster than the MR-2. They were now approaching more corners on the first section. "Thought I told you to keep it low key little girl. Hey, you wanna be the hero. Go right ahead, just don't cry about what happens to your buddies." Courtney wondered as she looked at her rear view mirror and accelerating hard but Ellie was close to her bumper as she is keeping up. "Crap! Doesn't matter anyway, I should be able to shake her off once we get to the high speed section in the middle. Let's see what you think about your precious little Supra once I'm done embarrassing you." Courtney said in her mind as she accelerated hard and Ellie was still on her. The drivers were about to approach the 2nd section of the section of the course. Ellie shifts up to 3rd gear and accelerates hard. "I can keep up, no problem. She's not bad but I don't think I'm gonna lose. It's not the car I need to worry about, it's the driver. And hey, it's not like this girl's in the same league as mom. Heh, now that was tough." Ellie said in her mind. A flashback was showing her getting passed by her mother's Evo 8. Present. The MR-2 starts braking early. "Compared to her, this tool breaks like somebody's grandma." Ellie said in her mind as she slams on the brakes on the next corner as she keeps up with the MR-2. "I think I got it. I think I know what her weakness is now. Yeah, it's obvious." Ellie said in her mind as she saw Kaylyn's braking and weakness. They were now on the end of the mid section and about to head into the 3rd section. "This girl's braking technique sucks! That's the chink in her armor!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she finally sees what the MR-2's weakness is and is starting to keep up with Courtney. "Son of a bitch! That hamster little piece of crap is really staying on me! Man this little punk is starting to get on my last friggin nerve. I gotta take it easy on this upcoming section. If she screws up and sideswipes me, we're in for some shit." Courtney exclaimed in her mind. "Her line's changed, looks like the speed I'm taking these corners at got this jerk pretty spooked." Ellie said in her mind as she saw Courtney changing her lines. They were now taking the next corner on the beginning of the 3rd section and Ellie sees the outside of the lines. "The outside is wide open, that's my in." Ellie said in her mind. The MR-2 was about to hit the next corner but braked early. "Ugh! Too slow!" Ellie exclaimed as she slams on the brakes as well when she was about to take the corner. "Persistent little bitch!" Courtney exclaimed in her mind. They were now on the long straightaway and about to hit the high speed section. "The high speed section's coming up, just a little bit farther. One more corner and I'll finish this thing." Courtney said in her mind as she accelerated hard and they were now on the oil section on the bridge before the next corner. She was moving to the inside but then she went on some leftover oil on the track as Courtney was losing traction from the oil. "What the hell?! What happened to my traction?!" Courtney exclaimed in her mind. "This is it." Ellie said in her mind as she saw the opening on the line and went for it. "Crap! Oil! Son of a bitch! I must've hit some leftover spill hugging the inside too tight!" Kaylyn exclaimed in her mind. They past the oil section and they were taking the next corner. Now Ellie is in the lead and Courtney is behind. "We're not at the finish line yet, I can still do this. I just gotta pass the lucky little buttmunch one more time!" Kaylyn exclaimed in her mind. "The next section is where I make my move, that 350Z doesn't have crap on me. Watch! This baby here is the fastest 2 point Litre turbo on the road little slut! No way I'm gonna let some deeky little 3 point litre show me up!" Courtney exclaimed in her mind as she was about to make a move and pass Ellie at the end of the 3rd section. "Damnit! It's no good!" Courtney exclaimed in her mind as she braked early and Ellie was going into the corner at the right time. "She's going in without braking?!" Courtney exclaimed in her mind as she was thinking that Ellie is taking the corner. Ellie is now taking the corner at the right time as she slams on the brakes and takes the corner while forcing her opponent to think she is going in without braking. She was now drifting into the corner and getting back on the accelerator timing the corner exit speed. Ellie takes the corner exit right and takes the next one as she slams on the brakes as it leads to a curve and she drifts on the last section of the curve. The Supra now exits the corner fast and the MR-2 lets off and slows down as she loses the race. "What the hell man? I don't believe this! That kid is something else!" Courtney exclaimed in her mind as she was shocked about Ellie's driving skills. The Supra kept accelerating down until it arrived at the final section and now Ellie is the winner of this battle. "You won, Ellie. Sounds like she won't bother you anymore." Yumi said. "Well, it feels like it. He's mine for sure." Ellie replied as she was driving on her way back to the Safehouse. 1 hour later. Safehouse. Ellie drove inside as she turned off the car and got out. "So did you win?" I asked. "Well, you just got yourself a date." Ellie answered. "Do you want to go out to get dinner?" I asked. "Sure, why not. We'll take my car." Ellie answered. "Have fun you two." Yumi replied. Meanwhile. Kempton. Morgan Beach. A race wars was going on as Tristen was in the pack with her new Dodge Challenger Concept. She revved it as she was about to begin the race. After they revved their engines, they launched off the start as they were about to head into the first corner. Tristen grips it as she was about to hit a series of banked corners coming up. After they were passing by the sections, they were heading into the Eskuri Plaza area. Tristen heads into an underground subway section and she activated the nitrous as she went fast and caught some air. She landed perfectly as she was about to head into the next hairpin turn when she yanks the e-brake and starts to drift on the corner as she pulls it down. Meanwhile. Historic Chinatown. Mr. Fuk's Rice Box. "Uh, Branden. Are you sure you want to eat this restaurant?" Ellie asked. "Well, they have the best food here. I mean it's all Asian food, they have Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese food." I answered as we walked into the restaurant. "Hi, table for two." I greeted. "Right this way." The attendant replied as he escorted me and Ellie to the main lobby up the stairs as well as taking us to our table. We took our seats and read the menu to see what was for dinner. "You know what you want?" I asked. "Yes, I know what I would like to have." Ellie answered. Some time later. Fortuna. Rainbowitz Drive. April revs her car and she was about to begin her time attack. She accelerates as she was on the straightaway passing through the parking area as she brakes in and takes the next corner heading down the hill. "Not bad, but honestly it's very powerful when coming out of the corners. However I can be able achieve better grip." April said in her mind as she takes the next corner and another one after passing through the first checkpoint. She accelerates hard on the straightaway and passes through a series of bends and banked corners. April takes a cut on the left as it leads to a park area heading into the entrance of the university. She takes the right lane and heads straight into the 2nd checkpoint. The V12 engine starts roaring loud. "I love the sound of that V12. It definitely has the best acceleration on the straightaway but it can be better on corners." April said in her mind as she accelerates hard but then braked onto the next hairpin. After she takes the hairpin, she takes another shortcut past the tunnel section and heads into the next banked corner that leads to a long bend. The Zonda F passes through the short straightaway section and heads into an series of hairpin turns coming up. While it was heading into the 2nd hairpin. April was starting to lose control as she spins out but then she stops before she causes an accident. She was breathing heavily as she was scared that she could've crashed the car down to the ocean and April punched the wheel as she was frustrated. "Damnit! I thought I was able to keep the car under control." April exclaimed. She parks her car on the side of the road. "Why at that moment did I spin out? Is it because of my driving or is it because of how dangerous the car is? Well... it might be how it's setup, it's an MR but I don't know why it would spin out like this..." April wondered as she got out of the car and closed the door as she looks at it. She takes a seat on her car as she looks at the beautiful view point of the ocean between the canyons and the unknown roads. Back in Downtown. "Is it wonderful with the just two of us?" I asked. "It is peace and quiet. I guess we don't have to deal with the drama back at the Safehouse. But it's good to spend time with each other." Ellie answered. I took a sip of tea from the teacup as I was starting to enjoy this date. "Branden, what is home like for you here?" Ellie asked as I stopped drinking my tea and slowly put it back on the plate. "Well... home is complicated after we went from Bayview to Rockport but I was here before I went to Rockport. It seemed like now, everything is very difficult, I dunno what's up with Darius but I'm pretty sure he's trying to get something out of me. Ever since my mom and I left, a lot of things changed and Nikki wasn't able to make it out of there with us." I answered. "I see what you mean, back in Bayview, everything was so easy for us as we raced as a team against team on Jackson Heights. We've got to keep fighting against the leaders on those turfs. We took out 2 now we need to get 2 more which is Fortuna & Silverton but we'll see what happens next." Ellie replied. "Yeah, but I'm glad we get to stick together for the rest of our lives because we're a team." I said. Seconds later we heard gunshots from the lobby area. "What was that?!" I exclaimed. "It looks like gunshots and someone's about to rob the place!" Ellie answered. We saw henchmen & gunmen coming up the stairs with their rifles pointed at the people that are at their tables. "That's not good..." I said. "Never the room empty handed." Ellie replied as she took out a pistol from her inside pocket of her jacket. She gave me a pistol as well and a smoke bomb. "I have a plan, I'll get us out of this. On my signal, throw the smoke grenade and then we flee." Ellie said. "Okay, but where are we gonna get out?" I asked. "We'll get out from the kitchen. Now Shh." Ellie answered as she puts her hand in the air and I put my hands in the air. "Don't move!" The gunman exclaimed as he points his gun at me and Ellie. He walks aways and points it at the hostages. The other gunmen were point their rifles at other customers. "Okay, now." Ellie whispered as she and I were slowly about to get out. I took out the smoke grenade and we were about to make a run to the kitchen as I threw it at the entrance. "They're escaping!" The gunman exclaimed as he and his other men saw us making a move but the smoke grenade polluted in the air as the gunmen and hostages were coughing. "The exit's here! Come on!" Ellie exclaimed as she and I ran to the exit of the kitchen. There was a ladder we used to climb down and once we got down we were about to run from the restaurant. "Branden, where's the car?" Ellie asked. "I think it's parked by the Dragon Cafe." I answered. "It's not fair but we can get there." Ellie replied as she and I were running our way out of the alleyway from the restaurant as we were running to the Dragon Cate where the Supra RZ was parked. "There's the car!" I exclaimed as we saw the Blue Supra. "Let's go, get in!" Ellie replied as she unlocked the car's doors and we got in as I drove off to get us out of the chaos that was going on back at the restaurant. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah... I'm fine." Ellie answered. "I'm so sorry about earlier..." I replied. "It's okay. It's not your fault or anything. I just didn't like how it was gonna turn out. The good thing is that we escaped and managed to stay alive. Let's just go home." Ellie suggested. "Okay." I answered as I shifted up and drove off as we were on our way back to the Safehouse. Ocean View. April was on her way back to the Safehouse but a squad or exotic cars blocked her way as Wolf pulls up to her Zonda F. "I think you're mistaken. This area is for serious drivers, not thieves and cowards." Wolf said as he and his crew drove away from April. She sighs as she was starting to have a rough day. Meanwhile. Kempton. "Don't let up! The goal's almost near!" Tristen exclaimed as she accelerates hard and warps through the final section as she was about to hit the goal before passing the ramp. Tristen crosses the goal in first and is the winner of the Kempton Race Wars. She pulls off some donuts as she was the winner of the race. A minute later. "Nice going out there! Here's the cash." A racer said as he handed Tristen a duffel bag of Cash. "I appreciate it. Thank you. I'll see you around." Tristen replied as she got back in her car and drove on her way back to the Safehouse. She sighed in relief as she was able to clinch the win for the Kempton Race Wars as Downtown Palmont & Kempton is now conquered by Branden & his crew. All they have to do now is take over Fortuna & Silverton.
