Chapter 3 - Rotary VS Rotary

A day later. 8:30 p.m. Downtown Palmont. Old Quarter. The drivers were on their way to the starting line as they were starting off side by side. "You remember me, right? I don't think you do. If you did, we wouldn't be sitting here right now." Kenji asked. "3, 2, 1, GO!!" The female starter exclaimed as she started the countdown and the cars launched off. Kenji's FD had the better start than Ellie's RX-8 as he was in the lead. "Damn, this guy's fast! I need to catch up to him on the corners if I wanna pass this guy!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she accelerates hard to keep up with the FD. "He doesn't know is that I have better cornering than him. So I shouldn't have any problems catching up." Ellie said in her mind as she sees the FD's cornering which was weak and her RX-8 has better cornering as she catches up to Kenji. "This girl's good. I can't seem to pull away from the straightaways but the corners she can catch up. I didn't notice this girl was dumb as I thought she used to be but this turf is gonna be mine!" Kenji exclaimed as he notices Ellie catching up to him. They were about to hit a hill section as he stays on the main road and she takes a cut as Ellie catches up to him. They took a cut on a banked road. "I should try to pass him here." Ellie said in her mind as she attempts to pass Kenji before passing by the underpass of the highway but he blocks her by playing reckless. "Woah! Okay, there's an alleyway after that section, I can make a move there." Ellie wondered in her mind as she avoids the block but managed to stay in the race. They were coming up on a series of corners. "You are not gonna pass me! This turf is mine!" Kenji exclaimed. "The gates! That's the alleyway! Go for it!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she goes for the gates and takes the alleyway as she passes Kenji. She is now in the lead and sees a banked hairpin as she yanks the e brake and power slides as she drifts through. She was in the zone as she passes through the next corner fast. They were in the final section as Ellie grips it hard and Kenji was trying his best to keep up but the RX-8 crosses the goal and wins the city race as the next race is the Canyon Duel. An hour later. 9:30 p.m. Lookout Point. The RX-8 waits at the starting line as the FD pulls up to it and Kenji opens his window. "It's your last chance to face reality, and back off!" Kenji exclaimed as he passes by Ellie and pulls a u-turn as he gets in front of her when they were about to begin the race. They approached the first corner as the FD is trying to pull away from the RX-8. "I can keep up but I shouldn't have any problems with the car. I feel it connecting through me when I'm starting to get with the flow." Ellie said in her mind as she's starting to keep up with the FD and get in the zone as she passes through the bridge section and about to hit a tunnel area. She was right on Kenji's bumper as they were coming up on a series of hairpins. He was trying to keep focus but Ellie was staying on him like she is glued to his bumper. "Maybe I can pass him on the straightaway before the next hairpin. It's after we approach the bushes section and then the city overlook once we hit the straightaway, I should be able to attack." Ellie said in her mind as she was thinking of a way to make a move on the straightaway but the inside was open before the corner. "The inside's open. Go for it!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she aims for the inside and successfully passes Kenji as she is now in the lead while they are coming down the hill passing through the S curve. "It's over Kenji! I won!" Ellie exclaimed in her mind as she passes Kenji and warps as she was in the zone. She heads to the end of the hill and crosses the line first as the race was over. Kenji crosses the line last as he pulls up to Ellie's RX-8. "No way, punk." Kenji said. "Well that's the deal, hand me the keys! You just lost your ride!" Ellie replied as she giggled and Kenji gave her the keys to the RX-7. "Letty, I need you to bring a hauler to Lookout Point. I need you to haul a car back to the Safehouse. I have something for Branden." Ellie called as she picked up her cellphone. An hour later. Downtown Palmont. Old Quarter. I was in my car chilling and I noticed my phone ringed as I got a message. "A voice message from Yumi? I wonder who this person is?" I wondered as I played the message. "Hey, I'm lookin' for someone to drive with. I've had it with Kenji. He'd be nothing if it wasn't for me. I just want someone who drives fast and smart. If you want one more in your crew, I'm staying at the Plaza." Yumi said as the message was playing. "Ellie must've defeated Kenji already. I wonder how it turned out after all that trash talk he's done to her." I wondered as I was driving to the plaza. When I was on my way there, I saw Yumi's Eclipse GT at the Plaza. I got out of the car as Yumi walks up to me. "I have a secret. Thought you'd like to know?" Yumi asked. "Yeah? It's about that night race isn't it?" I asked. "Yes, I was there that night you left. I was at the fire escape. *transitions to flashback* You can see pretty good up there, you can hear things too." Yumi answered. "Unit 4. Unit 4. You're confirmed. For a 10-46 on suspect's bravo, Charlie and delta. Suspect held by driving a blue Toyota and they've gone in action. Repeat, suspect-." The police dispatcher said. "Then the cops came out and hit every car, but the blue one, yours. I didn't make any sense of that. Somebody interfered in a big way, and now you need a good crew to pick up the pieces." Yumi explained. "The puzzle is starting to connect so far." I said in my mind. "Hey why don't we go back to the Safehouse and grab a drink? I'm pretty sure the driver that beat Kenji is gonna be there." I asked. "Sure, that sounds fine with me. I appreciate it." Yumi answered. "We'll head back, follow me on the way." I replied as I got in my car and Yumi nodded. We drove our way from the Plaza to the Safehouse. A minute later. We walked into the Safehouse after we parked our cars inside the building and we got out of the cars while walking to the crew. "So Branden, you brought another chick in?" Jordan asked. "Nah, she's a member that told me to come meet her at the plaza because I got noticed when Ellie won against their leader." I answered. "Wait, what's Jenna doing here?" I asked as I saw her chatting with Jill. "Well about that. Apparently Jill made me pass out. So she decided to join our crew after Jill and this other girl beat the drift events on this turf. I don't know who that was but I'm pretty sure that other person may want to join our crew but who knows. We'll see what happens soon." Jordan answered. "Hey Branden!" Jenna greeted as she and Jill looked at me when they were greeting. "Hey Jenna." I greeted. "Do you want me to get you guys something to drink?" April asked. "I'm good, you?" I asked. "A water would be nice." Yumi answered. "There's Ellie." I replied as I saw the garage door open and I saw Ellie driving into the garage with Letty outside with the hauler. She gets out of the car and sees Yumi. "That's Ellie Yajima right?" Yumi asked. "Yes, she's the fastest in the crew." I answered. "I recognize her now. I will talk to her for a few." Yumi replied as she walks up to Ellie. "Okay, you do your part." I said. "So you're Ellie Yajima the one defeated Kenji?" Yumi asked. "Y-Yes. I was on the one who defeated him." Ellie answered. "That was well played. I didn't expect anyone that is very good to beat him, I've had it with him but I'm glad you defeated him." Yumi replied. "Well... it's the best I can do. I guess you got noticed by me and then you got in contact with Branden because I won against their leader." Ellie said. "Don't beat yourself up on it. You are fast Ellie, but someday you will get better and better than any other driver. Just put any sleep on it. Keep moving forward, that is the best you can do. For now, just enjoy the night. You defeated Kenji so you should be proud of it. I'm serious, I know you must be down but in the end, you did amazing. Celebrate and enjoy your victory." Yumi replied as she gives a pat to Ellie on the shoulder and she brightens up. April walks up to them with a tray with cups of water. "Alright, so I have some water. Here you go girls." April said as she hands Yumi a cup of water. "Thank you!" Yumi replied as she takes a sip of water. "Ellie do you want a glass of water?" April asked. "Sure." Ellie answered as April handed her a cup of water. "I'm going to speak with Branden now." Ellie said. "Okay, take it easy." Yumi replied as Ellie walks up to me. "Branden, Ms.Disantos and I have a surprise for you." Ellie said. "So what do you have for me?" I asked. "Close your eyes." Ellie answered as I closed my eyes and Letty drives the RX-7 FD3S inside the Safehouse after unloading it. "Open your eyes now." Ellie said as I opened my eyes and I was surprised that she won Kenji's FD. "You won Kenji's FD??" I asked. "Why yes I did. You didn't have to buy a Tier 2 car for that so I provided you with one." Ellie answered. "Thank you Ellie, it means a lot." I replied. "We'll modify it to make it your's? Does that sound good?" Ellie asked. "Sounds good to me. I'm gonna go to bed now." I answered. "You sure you don't want to come out and celebrate?" Yumi asked. "No, it's okay. I need to get some rest. I'm pretty tired now. Goodnight everyone." I answered as I walked to my room as I closed the door and went to my bed as I was about to fall asleep. A day later. I went to the garage and I saw my mom in a SL65 AMG. "Whoa. Mom, you're using this?" I asked. "Yeah, I just bought this from the dealership and one of the guys modified it. It's a little heavy but you'll get a shot at driving this thing." Adena answered. "I bought myself an FD, because it's got the best acceleration and top speed. The handling is amazing too. You can drive it too since you let me drive the SL65." I replied. Devil's Creek Pass. I was driving the SL65 on the pass. I braked into the corner, shifted down and attacked the corner. Then I noticed it was showing understeer. "This is wild! Wow, I never driven a car like this! But however, it's showing understeer. I'll have to let off the accelerator during the corner entries and getting back on it at the exits." I said in my mind as I attacked the corner and I got back on the accelerator and kept driving. 3 hours later. "So, what did you think?" Adena asked. "I'd say it's a fast car. But it has a little understeer so it could help though. Still, it's one fast machine." I answered. "So you're using this against 21st Street's Angie right?" I asked. "Yeah, I know her car's a 1969 Charger R/T. At some point it's gonna start fishtailing. So I'd figure using an Exotic car would help, but it's a little heavy and it may cause understeer. so I should be able to edge her out on the straightaways." Adena answered. "You do know we have to get noticed by beating their races right?" Letty asked. "Yes. I know that." Adena answered. "Our next attack will be on Kempton. They drive muscle cars so remember the weakness of the muscle car is it's fishtailing and oversteer." Jill replied. "Guys, I just got word that Rotor 4 is trying to take over our territory and it's going on at the Historic Chinatown area." April said. "Ellie, why don't you and Yumi show those guys who you are fully made of." Jill suggested. "Okay, we'll take em." Ellie answered. "I will take a drive at the Kempton area just to see how it feels so I can analyze more of the tracks on that area." Letty replied as she runs to her Renault Cilo V6 and gets in as she's about to take a drive to the Kempton area to take a test drive at the course. A few minutes later. Eskuri Plaza. "Alright, now let's see how this track can handle this vehicle." Letty said in her mind as she revs her car and shifts up to 1st gear as she begins her time attack run. She accelerates hard on the straightaway as she grips the next corner that will lead to the longest straightaway. Letty activates the nitrous as her gets a big boost coming from the straightaway and she was about to hit a few banked curves coming up as she passes them. She approaches a banked corner as she lets off and takes it fast. Letty takes another banked corner as she brakes in and takes it when going to approach on the next corner. The Cilo was around the beach section as it was cruising fast. Letty was about to hit another banked corner as she brakes in hard and drifts it before hitting the industrial area. "This is not bad but I feel like braking is the most crucial part of this area because there are banked corners on the beach section. It's worthy but it's tough. I have to admit, this vehicle handles smoothly as expected." Letty said in her mind as she can feel the car's amazing handling and getting the hang of it during the moments of passing through the industrial section. She was about to hit the aqueduct section as she passes through a shortcut and completes her time trial. A few minutes later. Safehouse. Letty arrives back at the Safehouse as she pulls up to the building. "So how does it feel?" Jill asked. "It handles very smooth but there are straightaways and banked corners. There are a few of them on the beach section but the roads are long which means they are designed for muscle cars. So it's apparently gonna be tough." Letty answered. "Neville and I are gonna head to the race in that area." Adena replied. "Good luck you two." Letty said as Adena and Neville walked out of the Safehouse and got in their cars as they were heading to kempton as they were on their way to Kempton. He was now driving a Cilo V6. Meanwhile. Historic Chinatown. "Oh yeah, we've got em!" Yumi exclaimed. "Let's show them what we've got on our sleeves!" Ellie replied. "3, 2, 1, GO!" The starter exclaimed as she starts the countdown and they launch off fast. "There's an alley on the right, let's take it." Yumi said as she sees an alleyway and takes it. "Okay, got it." Ellie replied as she follows Yumi through shortcut. "Nice job, Ellie!" Yumi exclaimed as they were approaching a series of banked corner. "We got a banked hairpin coming up." Ellie said as she pulls up the e-brake and power slides through the banked hairpin corner as they were coming up to more series of corners. They were about to hit the underpass of the highway as they were crossing back to the Chinatown area. "We got another alleyway on the right! We'll go for it." Yumi exclaimed as she and Ellie took the alleyway on the right. "Hey, we got a car following us behind." Ellie said as she notices a White MR-2 following her and Yumi through the shortcut. "Watch your left, she's gonna attack you." Yumi replied as she notices the MR-2 is about to pass Ellie but she blocks her. They were about to get back on the main road. "Heads up, we got an alleyway on the right. Go for it." Yumi said as she saw an alleyway on the right as she and Ellie took it while the MR-2 was on their tail. "That car seems like they want to follow us because they want to win." Ellie replied as she was trying to block the MR-2. "Just don't let em pass you." Yumi said. "You're mine, Yajima!" Courtney exclaimed as she bumped Ellie from behind and she regained control. "Watch it!" Ellie exclaimed. "Just keep going! We got another alley on the right. They won't catch up to us there." Yumi replied as they aimed for the alleyway and they took the left that leads to a park area. They were now on the Kings Park section heading into the final section as they passed by the next corner on the left that leads to a straightaway and a hairpin. "Focus on the finish, nothing to it but to do it!" Yumi exclaimed as she and Ellie were about to hit the final hairpin with the MR-2 following them. The Cayman S yanks the e-brake as she goes backwards. "Ellie what are you doing??" Yumi asked as she was approaching the finish line. "Something that's gonna get this MR-2 out of our radar." Ellie answered as she turns on her fog lights to blind the driver as the MR-2 spins out. She drives backwards to the finish line and crosses the line 2nd as Yumi crosses the line first. "Ooh, you're making a show of it? Awesome!" Yumi exclaimed as Ellie gets back into going forward. The two of them won the race as Yumi finishes in first while Ellie finishes 2nd as a crew member as they both won the race. A few minutes later. Safehouse. "Jill, I just got word that Ellie and Yumi won the defensive race in the Chinatown area and it's now our territory again. There's a race wars going on at the Downtown area for you to take on." April said. "I'm in. I'll take those guys on alone." Jill replied as she gets in her Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX and leaves the Safehouse as she drives to the race location. Meanwhile. Kempton. Morgan Beach. Adena and Neville were about to begin the race as they were going up against a mix of tuner and muscle cars. "Yeah, keep your eyes on the road. I get those jokers." Neville said. "Let's do this!" Adena replied as they both launched off fast as the SL 65 manages to pass a few cars ahead of her at the starting point. "Yeah, girl! You owned them!" Neville exclaimed as they were coming up on a banked corner that leads to a bridge on the top of the highway. "Man, Letty wasn't kidding around. Those muscle cars catching up to us. They seem to be faster on the straights but we have the advantage on the corners. We got a banked hairpin coming up." Adena replied as she and Neville were taking the banked hairpin at low speed as the muscle cars are catching up to her. They passed through the hairpin and heading into the long straightaway before they approach another corner coming up after crossing the underground subway section. Once they passed it they were on a series of hairpins and corners coming up. "This car can't handle these curves and corners. They seem to be too banked!" Adena exclaimed in her mind as she starts to understeer on the corners and curves but tries to get it under control. "Okay just a bit more and you got it!" Neville exclaimed as they were now on the final section. Adena accelerates hard as passes through the industrial section and they cross the goal that leads to the aqueduct. They won the race as they were crossing through the industrial area. While they were on their way back to the Safehouse. A squad of muscle cars were approaching them. "Hey!! My car!" Adena exclaimed as she was sideswiped by a Dodge Charger R/T and another one blocked her and a few muscle cars blocked Neville. It drove reverse to her as the person who opened her window was 21st Street's Angie. "Yeah, I heard you were in town. Go back where you came from." Angie said as she and her crew drove away from them and left the scene. "You okay?" Neville asked. "I'm... not feeling so hot..." Adena answered as she and Neville continued driving on their way back to the Safehouse.
