The vice-like grasp of fear slithers around Eden Abren's throat, retching every last droplet of hope from the depths of her lungs. Quivering beneath the weight of forthcoming dread, she presses her back against the jagged concrete, her legs growing numb beneath her. The harrowing answer already dancing within her frantic mind, Eden utters a question. "Is there another way out of here?"
"No, that's it," Greef confirms her fears.
"What about the sewers?" Din suggests, his mind aching with exhaustion as it churns, trying to discover any way to escape. In response, he receives a confused mutter from the guild leader, pressing him to elaborate. "The Mandalorians have a covert down in the sewers. If we can get down there, they can help us escape."
"Yeah, sewers are good," Cara agrees, nodding hastily.
Din's helmet beeps as he presses a button upon his forearm, scanning their surroundings through his visor. Daring to peek out from the pillar she is using as cover, Eden's gaze treads carefully toward the sea of imperial's swarming the courtyard - her knuckles growing white beneath her merciless hold on her blaster. "Why haven't they killed us yet?"
Through the small opening of the window, movement catches within her eye. The crowd of Imperials parting to allow the newcomers through, a group of storm-troopers halt upon the front-lines, a harrowing weapon within their ice-cold grasp. Never before had she laid eyes upon the gigantic blaster, yet, the mere sight of it sent chills tumbling down her spine. "The fuck is that?"
"They're setting up an E-Web," A sigh slips past Cara's lips as the response passes them by, the mention of the weapon's name looming over them, like a guillotine ready to snap closed.
"It's over," Greef mutters, his despairing words catching within his throat. His heart descending into a pit of darkness, he tears his gaze away from their forthcoming end; his dark eye's intertwining with Eden's. And, when he sees the same hopelessness reflected within the woman he knew to cling to strength, he knows for certain their world was crumbling down around them.
Din's helmet trilling with success, he announces, "I found the sewer vent."
"Let's get the hell out of here," Cara responds.
Stepping forth, Cara and Din work together to discard of the debris obscuring their path to the vent. But Eden and Greef remain still, lingering upon either side of the shattered window, their eyes frozen upon the enemy. Eden watches the troopers assembling the weapon, her heart skipping a beat as it's construction is completed.
