since hopper was going to be home, el decided to take mike on a walk and tell him the news out in nature.

he arrived at her door and she skipped out happily, trying to seem as normal as possible. he gave her a small kiss and they walked off.

they were talking like usual, but mike knew el, and he could tell something was wrong.

"el, are you ok? you can talk to me? what's going on?" she tried to cover up her worry,

"oh i'm fine. just tired that's all. and still a little sick." mike let it go, unconvinced, but sure he would get it out eventually.

finally, el stopped.

they were at the top of a hill, surrounded by beautiful trees and a small creek.

"mike, i have something to tell you. you were right. there is something wrong. and i don't really know what to do about it, but i know i need you, and just want you to know, so just-just close your eyes, ok?"

mike nodded and closed his eyes, confused. he felt her place a small plastic item in his hand. "open." she instructed.

it took mike a minute to process what he was holding.

in front of him was a pregnancy test with two blue lines.

he stared and stared before finally looking up to see his perfect girlfriend trying to decide whether or not to smile.

he pulled he into a silent hug, and she started sobbing. he pat her back, "we'll get through this el, we will, i promise."

they stayed like that for awhile, until mike finally pulled them apart and held el's hands.

"does anyone else know?" he asked. "max, just max." she replied.

she knew what he was thinking. hopper.

"it's all my fault!" she cried.

"no el! it's not. we used protection, we didn't do anything wrong." she squeezed her hands

"but hop may never let me see you again! it's not your fault!"

mike looked into her eyes,"nothing, not even hop is keeping me away from you, or our baby, got it?"

she nodded. they layed down and looked at the clouds. they decided they would tell the rest of the party the next day, and deal with hopper last.

"you're going to be a father mike."
"you're going to be a mother el."
