Ms.Trinket rambles on, but I don't notice a word she's saying, and start zoning out again. "Glimmer?" I didn't even notice that Marvel was talking to me. "Huh?" "How did everything go?" "I don't know, he seemed kind of weird. He said he's been expelled 3 times and arrested at 12, but he wouldn't tell me why. He also drove out 3 hours to railroad tracks. I didn't get home until 5am." He looks confused. "That sounds kind of weird. Was that it?" "Yeah. I didn't get any sleep." Clove joins the conversation. "Give him another chance."

"Okay." I don't pay attention in the rest of my classes, or anything anyone says to me. At lunch everyone asks me about it, and I explain everything. Everyone seems suspicious, but they don't say anything about it. The school day passes pretty quickly, and me and Marvel decide to walk home together, but this time Clove joins us, because her parents are busy, she decided to come to my house after school. We decide to talk about Aaron. "So, are you guys a thing now?" Clove asks. I nod. "Yeah, we're dating." "Still wish we knew why he was arrested." Clove replies. "Just wait a little while, he'll most likely tell you after you've been dating for some time." Marvel adds on. I nod in agreement. We get to my house and go inside. We sit on the couch, and I grab some snacks from the kitchen.

We turn on the TV, but none of us are paying attention. I decide to tell them I'm going out again tonight. "Me and Aaron are going on another date tonight." Clove just gives me a weird look. "Well okay. Where are you going?" She asks. "He didn't tell me. He didn't tell me last time either." "What time?" "10." "Why so late?" Marvel asks. I just shrug, I really have no idea. "It's only 3, so we have hours." I tell Clove. "Okay."

A couple of hours pass, and Clove and Marvel leave, so I go upstairs to get ready. I pick out a white top, a white pleated skirt, my white converse, and slip on a pink sweater over the outfit. I put on some pink eyeshadow, peach blush, and pink lipgloss. I tie my hair into a low ponytail. When I finish doing all of this, the doorbell rings. I run downstairs, where my mom is in the kitchen doing paperwork. "Where are you going honey?" She asks, looking up from her work. "I have a date with Aaron, I'll be back later tonight." "Be home by 12." "Bye mom!" I walk out the door where Aaron is waiting. I get in the front of his car. "Where are we going this time?" "You'll see." I just nod, and stare out the window. Why is he so weird? Things seem to be going well though, so I'll let it slide I guess. We sit for a while in the uncomfortable silence while Aaron drives. "Glimmer, what's your family like?" He asks me. "It's just me and mom at home. My dad died of lung cancer when I was 11. He was a heavy smoker." I never talk about my dad really. "What about yours?" He stays quiet and stares out the window. Was it a bad idea to ask? "Oh, sorry, you can talk about it when you're ready." I say, not sure if he heard me or listened. After an hour and half of driving, we finally arrive at where he was taking me.
