"Val," Leo hisses, nudging me in the arm. "What are we going to do!" He starts pacing around the room in our hang out. The basement; the only place the pack security doesn't know about and for good reasons.
"Look, the one thing you need to worry about is calming your inner alpha, I'll handle everything from here," I reply, worried that if he shows any of his emotions now to the security upstairs, everything could go south very quickly.
He's angry at the moment because of how this happened right under his nose, and how we think that it happened days ago. He's not alone in thinking that. I can't believe we didn't manage to sense a dead wolf in our house.
