PROTECTIVE [Dreamtale Nightmare x reader]

《11》 "Save them, please.."

   When did I fall asleep? Shaking my head softly I sat up from my bed, and went to  change. The same outfit as usual, nothing too fancy. It's been around 3 or 4 months since I've been taken. Time flies way faster in the void, or wherever we were. It felt like it was just October, that was when Nightmare took me. But today felt different, like something bad was going to happen, I could feel it in my SOUL..

   Shrugging the feeling away I grabbed my book I had taken from the library the other day. Nightmare was close to finishing the book I gave him, and honestly, he must have gotten some form of tragic ending or something triggering, he no longer tells me what's happening. Nevertheless, I keep asking, and asking..and I get the same go away. It was starting to bother me, I've been nice enough to ask what's going on, and I really want to know what the story is going like now!

   I reached the library not too soon after, and I began to scan the rows and isles of books infront of me. Someone who I didn't expect was sitting in a dark green bean bag. Reading some book named "Undernovela the Book"

  "Error..? I didn't take you to be a romance type of reader, or..novela lover." He jumped at my voice, "But hey, I wont judge."

   Error rolled his mismatched pin prics. "WhAtEvEr. WhAt aRe YouU doinG hErE?"

  "Getting a new book, what else? This place has a huge library, and I'm of course going to take advantage of that."
  
   "ReAlLy? I dIdN'T tHinK a GlItcH lIkE yOu wAs sMarT enOugH to ReAd thESe bOokSs." He chuckled.

   My turn to roll my eyes, "Haha very funny Error. Anyways got any recommendations?"

   The glitched skeleton nodded, putting a bookmark on the page he was on before standing up. He used his strings to drag me into an isle before using his strings again to grab a books. Then handed it over to me, once he let me go.

   I read the cover, "Love stops crime, an Undernovela story..?"

   "TrUsstT mE. It's gOoD fOr iT bEiNg a NoveLA BaSeD StOry." He gave me a genuine smile patting the cover.

  "Thanks! I'll start reading this, so I'm assuming theres more of these around the library?"

  Error nodded, "YuPp I've rEaD AlL oF thEm. ThEy AreNt tOo hArD to rEaD, nOr aRe theY eAsyY."

  Man, he sure loves his novellas. With a smile and another thanks I held the book as I walked down the empty hallways. There was that feeling again, no more this time it was a mix of dread and tragedy. Could it be what I'm going to feel when I read this? Am I going to get attached to a character in the book and I'm going to cry when i see they die?

   Wait, why was it so empty? Usually Cross would be yelling at Dust for cheating in mario cart. Horror would be in the kitchen raiding the fridge. Killer talking to me as soon as he found me out of my room. Nightmare in his throne room, but recently he would actually be making small remarks to the book. Error, well at least I found him.

   I walked back to the library, maybe Error knows where they are. "Hey Error do you-" no one was there.

   What the heck!? Where did everyone go? Was this some form of realistic nightmare? I pinched myself...ouch but I didnt wake up. This was real

  Running around, I had dropped the book on a table, I looked in every room possible. Then I turned my phone on, maybe one of them would respond. They usually tell me if they would be going on missions.
