tom had never seen so much pain in a person.
he had caused pain in several occasions to several people, with the greatest example being his father.
he didn't just kill the bastard.
he made him suffer, he broke every bone of his body and twisted every limp and used every curse he knew, unforgivable or not.
he thought that if he caused enough pain, he would get rid of this strange feeling in his chest, of this feeling of unfulfillment.
he had created amazing things and he was in a journey of reaching something no man had ever reached.
immortality.
he had created amazingly terrible things.
he had killed.
he had tortured.
he had divided his soul.
he was untouchable.
but he always wanted more. his thirst could not be tempted. his greed for things he shouldn't desire was infinite.
his greed would be the death of him.
and now that he had taken death out of the question, he was unstoppable.
causing pain meant nothing to him.
he didn't even enjoy it that much anymore, it was a need. a deep, sinful need that he couldn't control.
the more he broke his soul, the more he found himself unable of controlling his urges and his desires.
but with meredith he didn't have to wait.
she offered herself so gently from the start, it was a poem, really.
tom had never seen a person making pain look so beautiful.
he could read her mind but he couldn't read her.
somewhere deep in her mind he could feel her darkest secrets but she didn't let him in.
he had to break her first.
he had to turn her bones into dust.
he had to burn her skin.
he had to make her suffer in the sweetest way.
tom would have to deliver pain with every kiss, every touch, every promise.
it was a dangerous game.
he never realised what made him focus on the girl that much.
maybe it was because tom always liked a challenge.
he always loved a riddle.
she was always composed, sad but composed. she was always put together in the most depressing way possible but she wasn't destroyed, not yet.
tom riddle wanted to see her unravel.
he wanted to touch her in the most catastrophic way.
he didn't know why.
tom riddle, the man who knew everything, was for once looking for answers.
and he thought that maybe it was the fact that he needed to cause someone pain and she needed to feel it.
pain brought them together.
only pain could do them apart.
and death.
they would die for each other in the end.
but tom riddle couldn't die.
that was the trap.
