Levi Squad with our new addition Eren were on the way to the old Scout Regiment headquarters, I was whistling while I was on my horse ignoring Oluo's blabbering and taunting mouth, "An architectural marvel don't ya see. A proper royal residence once upon a time and more recently, our former headquarters. Fancy yes but insanely impractical once the scouts got to use it, this was the early days for us you understand. Now it's nothing more than a holding cell, the place where we hold our newest toy." Oluo grins, Eren looks back at me and Levi, I just shrug, "Do not-" Oluo begins again, "Shut up Oluo," I say, "Be deceived green-" Oluo tries again, "Shut up." I butt in again, "Horn, don't be expecting-" Oluo glares at me, "Shut up." I stare straight ahead, Petra, Gunther and Eld tried to hide their laughter, Oluo clears his throat, "The royal treatment even if you're titan or human don't expect for a second-" He gets close to Eren, "Shut up Oluo." I whip my reins, "We all share the good captain's attention-" His horse's hoof slipped on a rock and he bit down on his tongue incredibly hard, he cried out in pain, I burst out laughing, everyone else apart from Levi trying to hold in snickers.
"I don't get it Oluo, since when have you stared talking like this, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you're trying to imitate Levi." I use my hand and flap the cravat he newly accessorised, "Ha, If you intent to hound me like a wife Nat dear there's rather more you need to be acquainted with me than taking claim to the privilege." He smirks as he takes sip of the cup of water I gave him, "Careful Oluo, let Levi hear you called me dear, he's going to knock all your teeth out." I walk away and help Eren tie up the horses, "You disgusting swine herd." Petra looks at Oluo as she passed him.
The instant we stepped foot into the previously abandoned headquarters, we got to work cleaning, sweeping and dusting, "Achoo!" I sneezed, "The dust is just piling up," I swipe my finger across a window and I saw my grey finger, I saw Eren cleaning upstairs, "Hey Eren," I used my straw broom and sweeped the floor, "Oh, hey Nat." He jumped, "Sorry, didn't mean to spook you," I grinned, he looked down, "Something wrong?" I ask, "No, it's just..." He shakes his head, "I guess I never took the Captain to worry so much about the higher ups words and their orders." He shrugs, I laughed, "He doesn't really live up to the praise and crowds everything thinks. He may be the best soldier we've got but he does have his downfalls, one of them being his height." I snickered, Eren cracked a smile, "Well thing is, he's come from terrible background, complete opposite of mine in fact. He used to live in the underground, knee deep in the black market. Whilst I..." I was about to say something but I held back, "What's wrong?" He asks, "N-Nothing." I continue sweeping, "Pardon me for asking, but what was your surname before you married the Captain?" He asks, I gulped, "It was-" I was about it say but, "What's going on?" We saw Levi at the door, "Sir!" Eren perked up, "Your cleaning in lamentable back upstairs. Now." He glares at him, "He's also got a nasty temper but you grow to love it I guess." I chuckled, Eren pursed his lips and headed back upstairs, "What were you two talking about?" Levi asks and grabs my broom, "Nothing much, just about how much of a sad sack you used to be when you were younger. Almost said my last name too, before I was married to you anyway." I quickly pecked his lips, "I still can't believe it, some kid from the underground managed to woo a member of a noble family. The Zhang family living within Wall Sina." He brushes my hair, "Shut up, you know I hated my family and my last name. Guess it's good that I was able to change to Ackerman." I smile and grabbed my broom back, "Come on, we've got cleaning to do, I'll get my ODM on and clean the windows from the outside," I kissed his cheek and walked out.
At the end of the day, we all gathered around the table enjoying a cup of tea, "Shit." I muttered and lolled my tongue out as I burnt it on the boiling water, "It's safe to assume our standing orders will stretch into next week word through the grapevine is we're gearing up for a big mission a month from now, got a bunch of newbies as our main backup," Eld says, "That doesn't sound right, why do that? The cadets have been through enough with the last titan attack why subject them to that danger again?" Gunther asks, "You gotta wonder how many of those snivel drop runts peed themselves." Oluo sips his tea, "Surely this can't be the case." Petra looks around, I cross my legs up onto the chair and shrug, "Mission planning isn't my duty, but, it is Erwin's and you can bet the man's obsessed over every angle." Levi holds his cup, "That's true. Especially how special the situation is, consider how many people died taking back Wall Maria, I guess everyone was shocked to see how Eren could turn into a titan and how he was everyone's source of hope." I look at him, everyone follows suit and stares at him. "Most of us are still confused, how does this whole 'change into a titan' trick work anyway?" Eld asks, "Wish I could tell you but my memory isn't clear, guess it's kinda like being in a trace. I do know that the trigger is by hurting myself in some way. Like biting my hand." He looks at his hand, "We're not going to get anything out of him that hasn't already been written in the scribblers reports. Nothing you know who won't have a crack out of it." Levi lifts his cup up and takes a sip, "Who?" Eren was worried, "Hello Team Levi!" Hanji comes out of no where and wraps her arms around my neck from behind, "Eren, meet Hanji, she's my second wed when Levi's not around," I pet her head, "Tch." Levi scoffs at her, "Section commander Hanji." Eren looks at her, "Hello Eren, if you haven't pieced it together yet it's my job to spearhead the Scout Regiment's research efforts. Essentially I poke and prod our captive titan specimens. I'd very much like your help." She lets go of me and walks over to him, "What's on the docket for him tomorrow?" She asks, "Clearing out all the weeds." Levi says monotony, "Excellent then! It's official, young man, tomorrow will be grand!" She grabs his hand, "Want me to tell you more!" She blushes and was getting giddy, "Good night guys." I stand up, knowing if any of us stayed any longer we'd get roped in till sunrise talking about titans, everyone followed me without a word and walked out of the dining hall.
I went to one of the cleaned rooms and propped up a flame torch in a holder, I heard the door open and close again, "Tough day?" I turn around and saw Levi, he sighed and didn't say anything, "I know it's been tough on you today, you've fought titans and pleaded for Eren's case, come here. Get on the bed." I petted next to me, he took his shirt and pants off, "Lie on your stomach," I say and he does, "You deserve this." I sat on him and kissed his back before massaging him, he grunted when I kneaded out a knot every so often, "Sorry honey, I know it hurts." I whisper, the gentle glow the the fire illuminating our room, I kept massaging his back, I knew how tight he's been lately, I could just read it off his face and the look in his eye, I looked down and smiled, I could feel his breathing slow down, "Levi?" I whisper and brush his hair to the side, I saw his eyes closed, "Sweet dreams darling." I kiss his eyes, I quickly take my jacket and uniform off and I slipped into my nightgown, I hadn't felt the feeling of this silk for more than three years, I felt the smooth fabric, it always reminded me about how much Levi loves me, no matter his reluctance to show others, when we're alone, his walls fall and it feels like we're the only two people in the world, I quietly hopped into bed and pulled the covers over us, I felt him subconsciously wrap his arms around my waist and bring me tight into his chest, "Good night sweetheart." He mumbles and kisses my head, "Good night honey, now go to bed. You're beat." I whisper and stroke his arm around me.
The next morning Hanji burst into our room, "IT'S TERRIBLE! SAUDIE! BEAN!" She cries, both of us shoot up, "What the hell four eyes, keep it down." Levi growls, "What's wrong?" I slide closer to Levi for warmth and he wraps his arm around me, "Nat! Nat! Come please!" She cries and picks me up and hauls me after her, "L-Levi!" I tried to reach out to him, "FOUR EYES!" He yells and gets his uniform on and runs outside. We got to her research ground where she was holding two titans, we ran in, I was still wearing my short, white nightgown, all the soldiers blushed profusely when Hanji dragged me in, "Hanji!" I hissed, "HANJI!" I punched her head, "IDIOT! I'M STILL IN MY PYJAMAS!" I yelled, she looks at me and cries even more, I took a step back and sighed, "I'm sorry," I hugged her, I saw two vapouring titans, must've been who she called Saudie and Bean, we heard horse hooves and we saw Levi Squad riding in, "FOUR EYES!" He yells, Hanji flinched, "GIVE ME BACK MY WIFE!" He screams and pulls be back, "And for the rest of you, keep your eyes and hands to yourself unless you want me to gouge them out." He glared at all of them and pulled his green cloak over me and covered me.
