Imagine waking up under eiffel tower bedsheets that didn't belong to you, with a massive upside down texan flag mounted on the wall beside you. What would be your first instinct? Would it be to scream?
Because that's exactly what y/n did. She peaked one eye open, observing her surroundings. It surely didn't smell like home... it surely didn't feel like home.. Hey, why's that flag upside down... wait, she doesn't own any flags?
An ear-splitting shriek escaped her mouth, as she rummaged through numerous upon numerous sheets that she'd lost herself in.
"Woah woah woah, calm down please I don't need another noise complain after the last time." A masculine, nasally voice cut through, making her jolt up.
"Dude what the hell? Am I at your house?" she turned her head, eyeing the brunette, his back turned to her as he melodically tapped away on his keyboard.
"Ms. Larkin told me you barely got any sleep, you ended up passing out in the corner of the 7/11 hard on the floor" he still hadn't turned around, hunching over to the side of his desk, picking up a pen and strategically jotting down a few words here and there.
Larkin.. Ms. Tonya Larkin. She and y/n had been on first name basis that she almost had no idea who he'd been referring to.
"You feeling better? You can go back to sleep if you need"
"How long was I out?" She squinted her eyes, trying to get a better view of what sort of project the male had been working on, but her brain refused to process anything in the moment.
"Eh, maybe an hour.."
"Did you.. drive me here?" She fiddled her thumbs, feeling apologetic for making him go through all the trouble for her.
"Uhm, well I only live 3 minutes away from the 7/11, so I think carry would be a better-fitting term." His voice was almost drowned out by the ridiculous noise his keyboard uttered.
"Shit, that's embarrassing." More guilt built up in her tone
"Yeah, you can imagine the odd looks I farmed from my literal neighbours" he chuckled, finally spinning around in his chair to look at her for the first time.
Her hair was messy, eyes still fighting to keep open, and she seemed completely out of it.
"What're you up to?" She tilted her head, once again trying to examine his computer screen.
"Stuff." He shrugged, turning around to exit out of everything he'd been working on.
She stood up on the bed, walking to the edge and hopping so she'd land on her bottom.
"Hey y/n, how do you feel about staying the night?" He joined her at the edge of his bed, kicking his feet together
"You're probably gonna stab the shit out of me tonight." She tugged on her apron, lifting it above her head, and reaching for the box of airpods she'd receive as a present in the front pocket before folding the apron neatly on her lap, storing both items in her bag.
"Wouldn't have spent that $200.00 on you if that were to be the case" he shrugged again, nudging his head to the box previously in her hands.
She pursed her lips, seemingly unconvinced
"Plus, you already climbed a 30 foot cliff with me, I think that in itself's enough to say I'm pretty trustworthy." He let himself fall on his mattress, with his legs dangling off the side.
She'd join him momentarily, resting her hands on her stomach. "My dog's gonna starve"
"Get someone to feed him. You got a sibling in town, right?"
