Updates are gonna be a little bit slower after this chapter due to school and stuff + a bit of work on my unpublished story + predominantly writer's block, but I've tried making the chapters lengthier and I hope that makes up for it [: love u take care

It's like performing a heist.. without the heist. There's the adrenaline rushing through your body, your feet running on a mind of its own going until you physically can't keep going. It's the thought that you've just done something reckless and knowing that you probably can't get away with it, but that's the least of your worries.

This duo ran and ran until they saw Nick's house at the back of the street feeling like there was no time to spare, climbing through an open window that lead to his room.

"What's the plan?" She said through a series of breathless pants

He'd already been frantically shoving anything in sight into a bag "I pack my shit, you think of what you need to bring because we're driving by your place after."

"How long are we gonna be gone?"

"Around one week. Maybe more maybe less."

"You need me to get a charger and stuff?" She asked, searching her bag

He turned around from his closet, "I have one in the car, but I was thinking and it's preferable if we didn't stay really go on our phones. It's like those cheesy social cleansing bullshit you read on Facebook"

"Sounds like you're setting me up to get killed."

"Yeah you've said that like 5 times before and you're still alive, aren't you?"

She puffed her cheeks trying to think of a response. "Who knows, maybe you're just waiting for a perfect opportunity."

"It's not too late to back out then. The 7 eleven is waiting for you." He said while taking everything out of his bag to re-fold them neatly.

"I'd rather die by your hands than the hands of our shit manager." Y/n said offended

He shrugged, rolling up his clothes and tucking them in the backpack, "Well if I don't kill you soon you're still gonna have to face her when we come back."

"Yeah well that's future me's problem."

She laid down on the bed, head facing the ceiling.

"Hey don't you think about falling asleep during the car ride by the way. I'm gonna be driving for a while, alright?" He firmly said

"Do you even know where we're heading?"

He paused in his tracks. "I do but I'm not certain about today but I think we're gonna have a layover somewhere around Albuquerque"

She jolted up, "Layover? Albuquerque? Jesus Christ are we driving to Canada or something?"  She looked at the boy with curiosity

"Hmm, maybe next time." He smiled at her. "But I think this trip'll be just as cool."

"Want me to call in a motel or something?" She asked, desperately looking for something to pass the time

"Not yet, Albuquerque's just a potential thought. We'll see when we actually get on the road."

"You're really unprepared."

"It's a last minute decision but it's chill because I've watched my dad drive to this place like a billion times, I practically know what I'm talking about." He laughed, reaching for his 2nd bag filling it up with other necessities.

"Kinda sketchy how you won't tell me where."

"You're gonna love it. Anyways how old are you again? 19?"
