͡° ͜ʖ ͡° um before I let you get on with the story, quick survey (please do respond)

we're nearing the end of the story (or at least I am), so if I were to write a more crime centric type thing...

1. Who would you prefer to be the love interest (i personally am leaning towards quackity but I really want others' input!!)

2. Should it be another x reader/reader insert (like this story) or should it be an x oc story?

3. Should it be told in 1st person or 3rd person

Every single response is so appreciated <3

another side note, i'm gonna start attending in-person school full time again so after this week updates may be slow(?)

okayyy I'm done

Though y/n didn't have any sort of personal vendetta against Nick, it took quite a while for her to warm up to his company every single day at work; 1 and a half months if we wanted to be exact, despite the basic foundation of their pre-formed friendship.

It's not that she didn't like him as a person, it was more-so a.. prejudice—favouritism and loyalty to her old colleague. It's been 1 and a half months since his spot's been filled and it's been 1 and a half months since she's last interacted with Kai.

Sometimes she'd catch herself stalking his social media posts after he'd reactivated all of his profiles, and sometimes Nick would catch her doing so. She'd get emotional as she'd realize every trace of her on his account had been long gone.

Though the two got off on a rocky start as work-buddies, y/n grew to learn that Nick was a really good influence on her, with his best interest being to see her succeed and thrive.

He stood by y/n's side, encouraging her to cut off toxic habits such as the social media lurking. It's been 2 weeks since she unfollowed all of his socials, 1 week since she'd deleted his number off of her phone, all of which was accomplished with Nick's endless support for her.

But sometimes she can't help missing him?

It was now mid-July, and it's become common practice for y/n to spend the time after work at Nick's house, only for him to drive her home after the long evening.

"Christ, it feels like a hellhole in here." Y/n wiped a bead of sweat off her forehead, sitting on the counter and watching Nick dump a bunch of things into his backpack.

"You'd expect them to at least afford some air conditioning in here. Fuckin' Texas weather" he scolded no one but the hot summer climate.

She swung her legs back and forth like a child, taking a sip out of a medium slurpee she definitely did not pay for.

Nick looked behind him, "Oh come on, our shift's about to end and you didn't even bother to clean up after yourself?" He whined, heading over to the completely trashed slurpee bar with different flavours and colours scattered across the ledge and the floor.

"I'm indecisive okay? I pour one flavour into the cup and then decide that I actually don't want that flavour so I just dump it out, you know. Not my money, not my problem." She shrugged her shoulders, hopping off the counter and tossing an already dirty rag to her friend.

"Yeah but how'd it get on the floor? Along with all this trash?" He scooped up half empty slurpee cups off the floor, tossing them out into the nearest bin he could reach.

"Okay so I may have had a miniature game of target practice before I dumped out the cups." She chewed on the insides of her cheek, arms behind her back trying to pass off as innocent
