Warning(s): the reader's bi in this so if you're uncomfortable with that... get well soon i guess, mentions of sex (not explicit), drinking, angst, fluff, not edited (sorry!)

A/N: this is my submission for sadie's to lovers fic challenge!!! this was such a good idea and i absolutely loved participating!!!! the trope that i chose was friends to lovers and the prompt was "You keep saying that we're friends but you look at me for a moment too long for that to be true." i hope that everyone enjoys what i whipped up with that!!!!

Harry wasn't supposed to be home for a few more days. That meant that you were supposed to have at least seventy two more hours to do as you please in the house that you share with him.

You weren't expecting him to be home early, so you didn't think about checking the house like you normally do before sending your one night stands out the door. Normally, you check to make sure that Harry isn't up and then lead them out so that they don't know who you live with. You also don't want them to bother Harry. The last time that you had a one night stand that met him, they ended up asking him question after question until they were all but pushed out the door.

You didn't think twice about telling your newest acquaintance (Jennifer maybe? Julian? Jessica? Something along the lines of that) that she could see herself out this morning. You had thought that she would want to at least get something to drink from the fridge before leaving since you told her that your roommate wouldn't be home for a few days, but she just shook her head and rushed out.

Sighing, you rolled over on your back, ready to go back to bed.

"Who are you?" The voice makes your eyes snap open. It's nowhere close to you, but there's no way that you could mistake that accent for anyone other than Harry.

You sit up, pulling on the fluffy purple robe that you stole from him a few weeks ago before padding your way towards the front door.

"I'm Jessica." The girl all but squeaks as she peers up at Harry.

"Well. Hello, Jessica. Do you mind exiting my house?" You know he doesn't mean to come off as snippy as he did, and you make a mental note to text her about it later.

She doesn't say anything, just gives an awkward nod and maneuvers around him to pass through the doorway and pull the door closed behind her.

"That was a little rude, H." You tell him, not at all impressed with his attitude. He may not have meant it, and he may have had a hard trip home, but he's not normally mean to anyone.

"My bad." He raises his hands in surrender, his words laced with sarcasm.

"What's your deal?" There's definitely something up. You've been friends with Harry for years, and he has never once been this blatantly rude. You've barely fought throughout your entire friendship. Harry's too nice to start things, and he usually finds a way to resolve any and every issue with just a few words.

"Nothing. I'm fine, just need a drink." He moves past you, trudging towards the kitchen. You follow behind him, wanting to get answers out of him still.

"Harry, it's not even noon yet." You try to reason, knowing that if he drinks right now, he'll regret it later.

"Are you my fucking mother now?" He scoffs, taking a bottle of alcohol out of the cabinet along with a shot glass. "Trying to tell me what I can do and when I should do it?" He pours a shot and throws it back, not even wincing as the alcohol makes it's way down his throat.
