Jamesons' POV.

Massaging my temples wasn't healping in any way with this headache that came on all of a sudden, having to worry about not one but two neighbouring packs trying to kill us off was stressing me out.

They both had diffrent tactics that we werent familiar with, one was known for sending in spies and the other was known for trespassing under the cover of darkness.

Having to keep an eye on both advancing packs before they reached my territory was starting to take its toll.

"I dont care what the dangers are!" I snapped, pinching the bridge of my nose as I looked up at the table before me.

I was seated at the head of the table, Jackson and his mate Kelli were seated at the opposite end while several other of my highest ranking pack members were inbetween, all together there was thirty of us seated in this meeting.

The very same thirty members that accompanied me to take Charlie back from Markus' packhouse that night.

"Alpha Laurence, you need to reconsider your plans. Surely you understand that we cannot place several of our wolves in such dangerous territory" Kelli spoke up.

I looked to Jackson who was seated beside her, shaking his head because he knew how pissed off I was at his mates objections or because her arguments were getting ridiculous.

"For fucks sake Kelli, the nine men that have volunteered to head over to No-Mans-Land are happy to fight for all of us" I retorted, standing up and leaning forward on the table, resting my knuckles on its polished surface to warn her to back down.

She went to speak again but this time it was Jackson who stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder "They knew the risks and what they might be faced with but the only reason they've been sent there is simply to give us an early warning when the Regency pack has crossed the borders" Jackson explained and I think everyone at the table was releived a little when Kelli sat down in defeat.

She was intent on doing everything she could to stop their eldest daughter from going along because she was one of the nine to volunteer, sure she was still a girl but she had the tracking skills no other man I knew had.

"Its settled. The team will be leaving at nightfall to ensure that they cannot be followed. Rest assured, the men will keep Donna safe Kelli, they'll protect her with their own lives" I said to not only Kelli but Jackson aswell. He was the strong silent type when it came to his worry and fear, I couldn't understand the fear he had for his daughter but the girl was like my niece and I was doing all I could to protect her.

"When the team returns in a weeks time, I want a debriefing immediately on the Regency Packs' movement. In the meantime, we should be expecting the others to return from up north with their information on the Tigerlilly Pack" I finished, nodding my head to everyone before moving to leave.

We may be rogues, but we weren't the leaderless mutts every other pack thought we were, in a way, I was an alpha but I wasn't fighting for a higher command; I was fighting for our rights.

I sighed loudly once I had left the conference room, glad that we had dealt with the issues as much as we could for now and that I wouldn't have to worry about another stressful meeting like that for another three days.

For now, I needed to find out where Charlie had wandered off to because surely by now the pack doctor had finished putting stitches into my mates hand.

But by the time I had made it to the infirmary that was the entire Eastern wing of the packhouse, I was surprised to find Charlie still being attended by Dr Namara.
