Charlotte's POV

I woke to the sound of hushed voices, whispering that wasn't meant for me to hear and unable to contain my curiosity, I opened my eyes.

The familiarity of the infirmary had become somewhat comfortable over the past three days that I had been here, eversince Jameson saved me and brought me back here.

Over those three days that I had been bedridden, Dr Namara would come and check up on me too many times a day to be considered normal for any patient.

I was feeling better, my inhuman healing had strengthened my ribs and had almost healed them entirely.

My jaw was completely healed, Dr Namara had taken the pins out that were holding the pieces in place and I was just about back to perfect health with all the hardware out of my face now.

I still felt the tenderness in my leg where it had been completely dislocated at the hip and I was told that it might never heal properly.

But I looked around the infirmary then, expecting to see Dr Namara fussing over the records of my heart rate and coming to change the bandages on my back, the cuts and scrapes from the glass still hadn't healed entirely either.

But I could sit up on my own now.

I sat up just in time to see Jameson leaving the infirmary, his hushed conversation with Dr Namara by the doors now over as he was soon gone and only she was left standing there.

"Where is he going?" I asked her casually, it wasn't unusual for him to leave for a few hours each day to keep up with his packs needs.

Eversince Darius, my father, had attacked me, Jameson had put even more effort into finishing this war and finishing Darius all together for what he had done.

He had told me that he and his men were so close to finding the location of Darius, Alpha Tyson and Markus. Once he knew where they were hiding out and readying themselves for war, Jameson was sure he would end this for good.

"Jackson had called for him in his office, apparently they've found another clue and are closer than ever now" she smiled gently, closing the doors and walking over to my bed.

I nodded in acknowledgment as she helped me sit forward more and set up her items on the trolley beside the bed.

I leaned forward, looking at the white sheets covering my bare legs as I felt Dr Namara begin to tug and unwind the bandages from around my torso.

I understood now why she locked the infirmary doors incase someone might walk in on me completely naked from the waist up.

Dr Namara changed my bandages once every day, applying a cream of sorts to my cuts so they'd heal faster and leave no scars because unlike Jameson and everyone else, she was the only one who knew I wasn't entirely Lycan.

"How much longer will I have to stay here? I miss the fresh air..." I asked quietly as I felt the cool air fan across my sensitive cuts and skin.

I heard Dr Namara inhale quietly before stopping once she had removed the bandages entirely.

"Charlie... there's something I've been meaning to tell you for a while, the real reason I've been doting on you more than usual" she hinted, coming to sit beside me as she let my skin breathe before she would apply the cream and clean bandages.

I was confused, she was only worried about me more than usual because Jameson was still skittish about my health because I had nearly died.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, worried that maybe I hadn't healed just as well as she had first told me.
