Chapter Two
"Thank God!" I muttered as the bell rang throughout the school.
I let out a deep sigh because I was saved from the awkward question and answer portion with my classmates as part of our group presentation.
Bakit ba kasi politics pa ang napuntang topic sa group namin? Ako tuloy ang binato ng tanong ng mga kaklase namin.
I quickly gathered all my things when the teacher dismissed our class.
Luckily, Kuya Eric was already waiting for me at the end of the corridor kaya nakatakas ako agad sa mga kaklase ko.
Why are they even asking if they already know the answers?
"Bakit lagi kang may bodyguard?"
"Do you think you would be like your parents in the future?"
"Are you pressured to do well in school because of them?"
I shook my head to ignore their questions that are still echoing in my mind.
Second week palang ng klase pero iyong stress level ko parang for the whole school year na!
Nagmamadali akong bumaba mula sa third floor kung nasaan ang classrooms ng mga senior.
"Mary! Oks ka lang?"
Napa-angat ang tingin ko sa kay Jayson na nakatambay sa corridor kasama ang ilang kaklase namin.
Agad kong iginala ang paningin sa mga kasama niya at nagpasalamat na wala doon si Calvin.
I forgot, ka-group ko pala siya so technically ay nasa room pa siya kasama ang iba pa naming group mates.
Wait, nag-cutting classes na naman ba itong si Jayson?
I couldn't help but to look at him disgustingly as I walked towards him.
But instead of nagging him, I just shook off the idea.
I'm in a hurry.
"Yeah.. I am okay lang." Irap ko nalang then I quickly walked away from his crowd.
I can even hear our classmates teasing him but I didn't bothered.
I know naman that Jayson is just acting friendly towards me because my Mom told him so. He's just feeling responsible obviously. Because everyone knows from the school that I don't have any friends. Except for my cousin of course.
Wala sa sariling napalibot sa school grounds ang paningin ko.
Everybody seems to have someone to be with them.
Everyone has their own circle of friends.
Samantalang ako, heto at bodyguard ang kasama ko.
I just sighed and continued walking towards the parking lot.
Alam kong pinagtitinginan ako ng mga estudyanteng nadadaanan ko. I can even hear them murmur things that I am very sure na tungkol sa akin or sa parents ko.
I couldn't help but to just focus my stare on the ground.
Kung pwede lang sanang paglabas ko ng class room namin ay nasa parking lot na ako agad so I would not encounter anyone anymore. Or better yet, a connecting door from our house to my classroom!
I silently laughed at my own ideas.
"Nandito na tayo, ma'am..."
Nagising ako mula sa pagmumuni-muni when Kuya Eric spoke out of nowhere.
