Chapter 6
"Uhm-" Bradley knew that this situation was pretty embarrassing. But luckily a loud door bang interrupted him. Everyone turned around towards the loud noise. A wide grin fell on Bradley's lips as he saw a pretty girl standing in the door frame grinning from ear to ear.
The girl was probably the prettiest girl Amelia had ever seen. And she had the kindest smile. Amelia watched curiously as the girl walked confidently over to her and Bradley's table.
"Well, well. Isn't that my favourite white boy?" She asked with a laugh as she stood in front of Bradley with her hands on her hips. "Willow, girl, you're back!" Bradley said excitedly and hugged the girl. "Yes, the queen is back. LA was exciting but I missed this little town!" Bradley chuckled and sat back down.
The pretty girl was smiling as her gaze suddenly fell on Amelia. "Oh gosh, who is that beautiful lady?" She said with a smile and Amelia couldn't help but smile back. "I'm Willow. Nice to meet you" She said stretching her hand out with her gorgeous smile. "My name is Amelia Garcia. The pleasure is all mine."
Willow grinned as she looked between Bradley and Amelia. "Ohh. So you two are like dating?"
A moment of awkward silence followed that was interrupted by Bradley starting to cough. "No, nah, we are just...project partners."
Willow giggled. "I figured, Bradley is quite a bad boy, you know, you are safer without him. I actually think he is a mafia boss but-"
Bradley hit Willow playfully. "Shut it, will you?"
"I'm talking too much. That's gonna be my death one day. Bye pretty girl!" Willow said laughing as she waved dramatically at Amelia. Bradley sighed as he sat back down. He heard a little giggle and that cute sound made him look up. A smile spread on his lips as he saw Amelia giggling. "Are you laughing at me?" He asked playfully. Amelia looked up and grinned at him. "She's funny."
Bradley nodded in agreement with a warm, happy expression covering his face.
They gathered quite a few ideas and wrote some of them on a paper. And before they knew it, the lesson was over. "Bye. See you soon" Bradley said and gave Amelia a cute smile. The girl smiled back at him and said goodbye too.
Bradley made his way out of the school and greeted his friends happily who were already waiting for him. Jamy mustered him sceptical. "Why are you that happy?" He asked, his brows furrowed in confusion. Bradley scoffed playfully. "Can't I be happy?" James sighed but nodded. "Yeah, at least one of us should be happy I guess." He said, a pout on his lips. Bradley laid his arm on James' shoulders. "What happened, Jamy?"
"He got a D in his music test" Hannah said patting James' shoulder in sympathy. "That sucks" Bradley said, ruffling his friend's hair. "You know what? Let's do a movie night. We can watch Spiderman" That suggestion made the ginger boy's eyes lit up in excitement. "Really?" He asked, he looked as excited as a man that was just offered a million dollars. Bradley nodded with a smile. "NICE!!!" James jumped up and down like a little kid making his friends chuckle. James just had a strangely big obsession with Spiderman and he wanted to watch the movies like all the time. Bradley had watched the movies already quite a few times. But he didn't mind watching it again since James seemed happy again.
It was Saturday and Bradley was currently getting ready for a party. Since Friday he kind of felt more happy than before, he didn't know why though.
"Hey Hannah. I'm picking you up in 10, okay?" Bradley asked, holding his phone in the right hand and fixing his hair with the left one. "Actually, James invited me on a little date, so..." Hannah started and Bradley chuckled. "I see, making me the third wheel already, huh?"
"No, of course not. I asked Willow, she said she would come and Elijah is tagging along too!" Bradley grinned. "That boy is joining us? Well, that's lit. Then have fun, my friend"Bradley said with a chuckle. Hannah said goodbye too and Bradley hung up then.
He drove off to the party and was immediately greeted by a wildly waving Willow. He started laughing as he walked towards his crazy friend who was standing next to a tall, handsome boy. He had curly brown hair, was pretty muscular and looked quite mature. He was latino and an undeniable handsome boy.
"Hey man, looking spicy" He said and gave Bradley a half hug. Bradley chuckled and touched Elijah's arm. "Man, how are you that built?" Bradley asked with his mouth wide open. The friends both chuckled.
"Here man" Elijah said and gave Bradley a beer. "Wanna walk a bit?" He asked Bradley who immediately nodded.
"So, how was it back home, Elijah?" Bradley asked as he took a sip of his beer. "Amazing. I didn't realize how much I missed home. Especially my little sister and brother. Don't want to see them grow up without me, ya know?" Bradley nodded in understanding. "Found any chicks on your journey?" He asked, nudging his friend's side playfully. "Nope. What about you?" Bradley chuckled. "Nothing serious, you know the rules" Elijah chuckled his deep voice vibrating in his chest. "Still? Not a single girl you laid your eyes on? Willow told me about an "absolutely stunning and cute girl" that sat next to you in drama class." They both chuckled. "Nah, she seems too...good, ya know?"
Elijah nodded. "We have all the time in the world, man. The right one is waiting for us"
"Damn sometimes I wish I would be gay, would swoon all over you bro" Bradley said making them both burst out laughing. "Dude, me too. I missed you, Bradley Anderson"
After they talked a bit and came back from their little walk, they both partied like there was no tomorrow. Willow, Elijah and Bradley were the most famous party trio. They were all ridiculously good looking, charming and funny, everyone wanted to be friends with them.
"Dude, let me drive you home" Elijah said, nudging a drunk Bradley. "Nope, I'm staying." Bradley said grinning drunkenly at his friend. "You are too drunk, man" He said again but Bradley continued shaking his head. "Bradley, I'm taking -"
"Elijah, you are back." Elijah turned around and looked at the blonde guy who was approaching him. "Don't worry about Bradley, he can stay, it's no problem." Elijah seemed to debate with himself, so Andrew placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm taking care of him, don't worry. You should rather take care of your girlfriend over there" Elijah looked up and facepalmed. Willow was dancing on a table with a bunch of guys surrounding her and cheering for her. Annnd she was about to strip.
"I hope so, Andrew" Elijah said, his tone serious as he quickly rushed over to Willow. "Come on, we are going home" He called out and held his arms out. Willow smiled widely as she saw Elijah. "Yes!!!" She shouted happily and jumped onto him. Elijah shook his head with a smile and carried her.
Bradley was grinning dumply at a cactus before he decided to go home. He made his way outside and walked along the empty street. A few thoughts crossed his mind as he was walking alone in the dark. Firstly, he realized how happy he was that Willow and Elijah, his childhood friends were back. Then he noticed that even though he had really great friends who were there for him, there was always an emptiness in his heart that he couldn't fill.
He suddenly tripped and fell on grass. He just laid there staring at the moon above him as silent tears rolled down his cheek.
"Are you okay?"
Bradley's drunk mind could not understand what was going on but as he looked up he saw Amelia above him. Her blonde long hair was waving in the cool night breeze, and her blue eyes shone brightly in the dark night as she looked at the drunk boy in worry. Bradley thought she was beautiful.
"A beautiful angel..." He mumbled, before his eyelids fell shut and a deep sleep overtook him.
