chapter 16 (Ingame)

~Hi it has been a long time. I decided to write an ingame one since i had a good idea and i have been writing a lot of pregame chapters lately so. Here's one. This isn't connected to the old ingame chapters btw.

(Obviously spoiler alert and warning kinda emotional)

KAITO POV

"....huh..? Where... Am i...?" I thought to myself

"Wasn't i... Getting executed...? How... Everything is bright here...." I thought to myself again. Until i heard a voice from behind me

"Momota-chaaaaaan!!!" A familiar voice. My heart skipped beats. As soon as i looked behind me. I felt a small boy hugging me tightly. And of course it was who I thought it was.

"...Kokichi...." I said in surprise. "Did you make it for me?" Kokichi asked. "Did you continue the plan for me.. Kaito?" He continued

I smiled "Yes... Yes i did...." I said as i hugged him back "did you... Believe in my last words..?" He mumbled quietly. "Of course... Kokichi... I can tell when you're lying or not..." I told him

"I don't know how you can tell that... But i don't think you're lying rightnow.." he answered me. "Why don't you think so?" I asked

"Because you're a crappy liar." He told me "h- heeey!!" I answered with an annoyed tone.

"Do you have any great news for me...?" He asked me suddenly. "Like what?" I asked after a fee seconds. "Like... Did anyone care for me...? Did anyone credit me?" I paused for long... Long seconds after he said that.

"So no one did huh...?" Kokichi answered. I took a deep breath "well besides me, it's all Kiibo. I told them your last words and explained to them everything. Kiibo believed in your last words, cared about you and credited you." I answered.

"...." We said nothing for a long time.

Suddenly Kokichi got out of the hug, smiling at me. "We are in the afterlife. And i already knew all that!" He told me "H- huh!?" I said in surprise

"I've seen everything from up here, in heaven. Though.. i didn't watch you execution... I couldn't..." He said and his tone got more down as he continued, he still kept his smile tho.

"...Well i've got more nice news for you!" I told him cheerfully. "Huh?? What is it Momota-Chan???" He answered in excitement

"My execution failed!" I told him "i didn't die because of the execution! I died from the illness instead! I literally died in the middle of the execution! Monokuma must've been real mad!" I answered him

"Oh my god! Really!?" Kokichi laughed after he said that "we really fucked the mastermind over!" I told him "we really did..!" He answered me

We went back to the hug for a while... But then.. i remembered... All the shitty things that happened to him... The way we treated him... The way we misunderstood him... The way even at the end no one cared for him.... Without realizing i started tearing up... Which soon turned into crying

"......Momota...chan?" Kokichi said as he noticed i was crying "hey! It's ok momota-chan! You can cry... All of this.. was stressful anyways..." He answered me..

"I am crying because of what happened to you, idiot." I said "h- huh!?" Kokichi answered me in surprise and got out of the hug

"I.. think no one really understood you but me. Kokichi... I hate it... I hate how you did a lot of stuff for us... But most of us still treated you like shit... You were trying to help us all along... I don't understand why the others didn't understand that.... I know you were craving Shuichi's attention.. but instead you ended up dying thinking he hates you..." I told him, sobbing between my sentences and words

"You're... Right... Everything you said is right... Kaito... But... At least you are here for me... Just one person understanding me is enough! And i decided to shake off Shuichi! It seemed like i overestimated him... But i mean i was confusing so-" but i cut him off before he continues

"What do you mean!? Even I understood you! But an ultimate detective wouldn't!?... Sorry." I said

"No.. don't be... Don't be sorry. I am glad you are here for me Kaito..." He answered me

"And i.... And i am glad i have a chance to redeem myself to you... Kokichi." I answered.

"Oh also! Everyone who died in the game! They're here!" He said as he pointed on a bunch of familiar people

"Kaede... Ryoma..! Everyone!" I said in surprise

"Though, you still won't leave me... Right.. Kaito..?" He told me, i shook my head no.

"Never. I would Never leave you." I answered
