the following morning, when george entered the room, i was ready to go. without saying a word, he harshly grabbed my wrists and lead me out of the room.
i made sure i was aware of my surroundings, and remembered which hallways to take in order to exit. left, right, right, straight, left. left, right, right, straight, left. george seemed to notice my wondering eyes and tightened his grip on my wrist.
for a moment, i considered punching george and running out, but i realized how dumb that would be, as we were literally on the way to l'manburg.
once we got outside, dream, sapnap, eret, and punz all stood at the edge of the woods.
"took you long enough," sapnap muttered as we reached them, to which george punched his arm lightly.
dream reached out and grabbed my wrist from george before grabbing the other, and tying them tightly behind my back.
"what the hell, is that really necessary?" i said. they could all tell i was pissed.
"yes," dream responded simply. before i could even react, he had tied a piece of dark fabric over my eyes, blocking my vision.
"are you fucking serious?" i said incredulously.
no one said a word, and instead someone roughly grabbed my arm and pulled me forward.
the silence continued as we walked for what seemed like hours. i hated to admit it, but my feet were sore, although i didn't dare say a word in complaint. i could feel the tense atmosphere. just as i finally built up the courage to say something, someone's arm moved forward, stopping me from walking. the other's footsteps stopped as well, so i assumed we had made it.
we continued to stand there in complete silence until another set of footsteps approached. these were much more familiar- i immediately recognized them as wilbur's and tommy's.
"dream," wilbur's deep voice said, confirming my suspicion of who was there.
"wilbur," dream responded.
although i couldn't see, i could feel wilbur's eyes on me. "can you take off the blindfold?" he asked.
dream must have nodded or something, because a few moments later i felt the fabric being lifted. i squinted and blinked harshly for a moment; the light was super bright.
then, i looked around and saw wilbur and tommy standing across the small clearing. they looked about the same, except tommy had a large bandage across his neck and chest, mostly covered by his shirt. i started to run towards them, but was stopped by dream as he grabbed my wrist once again.
i turned my head towards him, sending him a pleading look. for some reason, he untied the ropes around my wrists and moved his hands away, letting me run towards wilbur and tommy.
i all but sprinted the few feet to them and jumped into wilbur's arms. he hugged me back almost roughly, squeezing me hard, but i appreciated it. tommy pulled me from wilbur's grasp before embracing me himself, and i had to hold back happy tears. who knew that less than two weeks away from them would have me missing them like hell.
tommy released me, and wilbur bent down slightly, holding my face between his hands. he seemed to be examining me to see if i was hurt.
"i'm fine, wilbur," i said softly. he looked back up to my eyes, and i saw that he, too, was holding back tears.
"i missed you," he whispered before hugging me again.
tommy tapped my shoulder gently, and pointed back towards dream who was glaring at us. he motioned for me to come back to him. i turned back to wilbur with a sad look on my face.
"go," he said gently, "before he gets angry." i did as wilbur said, and walked slowly back towards the others, and dream roughly grabbed my arm for the thousandth time that day.
"after that heartwarming reunion, we have shit to take care of, wilbur," dream said.
wilbur nodded, moving closer to us to talk more clearly. "what do you want?"
"what do you mean?" dream replied. it was obvious they were talking about me, but dream apparently wanted to play dumb.
wilbur took a deep breath before speaking. "what can we do to get y/n back?"
"oh, her? honestly, it's been rather fun having her around," he said with a devilish smile under his mask. his grip on my arm tightened, causing me to flinch. i turned towards tommy, who was staring at me in bewilderment. oh god, he saw me flinch. he probably thinks i'm being brutally tortured or something, but as much as i wish i could say they had intentionally hurt me it would be a lie.
"although, if you wanted to just give up on the revolution you could have her back right now," dream suggested.
my eyes widened. surely wilbur would be smart enough to say no, after all i was doing fine. my freedom wasn't worth giving up the entire country's freedom.
wilbur sighed again. "we're not doing that."
"are you sure?" dream said, his evil smirk still present.
for the first time in a while, wilbur sent dream a glare. i rarely saw him show negative emotions, so his actions shocked me.
"well, if you're sure, then we'll be leaving," dream continued. he used his hand on my arm to guide me away from them as the others followed.
