Albus Dumbledore faced turned grim the moment McGonagall and Katarina had left the office. Whether the girl was telling the truth he could tell, he knew after all, legitimacy. How she could stay in the past for so long, he did not know. Getting the Ministry involved would definitely be a short-term solution but, whether the girl would be incriminated or return to the future was undetermined.

Of course, he was curious about the outcome of his long-term plan regarding Riddle but, getting the answer could change the results indefinitely for better or for worse. Death Eaters are increasing tremendously over the years, perhaps the girl could be of use. There was nothing they could do about it, she was going to stay in the past until they figure a way to get her back.

Dumbledore studied the time turner left on his desk. It was indeed malfunctioning, perhaps he could find a way to fix it. For the time being Katarina would need to stay somewhere, as a Hogwarts student, what better place to stay than Hogwarts?

--

Katarina climbed up the stairs to a familiar painting of the Fat Lady to the entrance of the common room. To her dismay, however, she had realized she hadn't asked for the password to get into the room.

"Password?" The Fat Lady asked yawning.

"Erm- I'm not sure exactly," The Fat Lady denied her access as Katarina tried to explain that she was new.

"Hurry up Peter we don't have all day! Filtch will catch us at this point with how slowly you're walking," an annoyed whisper could be heard meters away from Katarina.

As they came closer Katarina recognized the boy, he was the same one she bumped into at the train station. He was the boy who looked an awful lot like James, even the name fit.

"Oh hey! You're the girl I bumped into at the station, I'm James by the way and this is Peter" he pointed towards the mousy-looking boy, "looking for some trouble out late I see."

James smirks before asking, "What are you doing out here this late anyway?"

"I forgot the password, I'm new," Katarina responded.

"No wonder I didn't recognize your face," He thought out loud before facing the Fat Lady.

"Asphodel Root," he exclaimed before the door swung open.

The common room was exactly like how Katarina remembered. It was interesting to see how the room didn't change at all over the years.

"Well see ya mystery girl, and do please keep this a secret between us," James winked before dragging Peter back with him to the dormitory.

Katarina had no idea where she was supposed to sleep, she instead peeked inside each room to hopefully see an unoccupied bed. Thankfully she found one, she didn't bother to look around to see who were to be her roommates. Katarina simply fell onto the bed and got carried away into a deep slumber.

--

"What is she?" Katarina heard a voice.

"What do you mean 'what is she', obviously a witch what else?" another slightly annoyed voice.

"I don't recognize her, perhaps she's new!" squealed another voice.

Katarina begrudgingly opened her eyes to find three faces staring at her. Katarina loudly gasped and sat up on the bed.

"Sorry, we didn't mean to scare you," a girl with mid-length brown hair said.

"I'm Alice, this is Marlene and Lily," she pointed at two other girls. Marlene at long blonde hair and Lily had vibrant red hair. Katarina presumed that this Lily was the same Lily James was talking about at the train station. This Lily resembled the Lily back at her time, James Potter II's little sister.

"I- I'm Katarina, Katarina Miller," Katarina squeaked.

"It's nice to meet you, Katarina. I'm guessing you're our new roommate. All your stuff was brought here this morning," Lily pointed towards the stack of books and robes on the ground in front of the bed.

Katarina jumped off the bed immediately and trudged towards the items. Lay atop of all the books was a timetable.

"Look here, you have Transfiguration first!" exclaimed Lily.

"Of course, only Lily Evans would ever be excited about Transfiguration," Marlene rolled her eyes as Lily shot her a glare.

"Sadly none of us have Transfiguration with you this morning but, I have Potions with you after lunch," Lily continued.

Katarina looked back to her timetable and the stack of books in front of her. Katarina hadn't noticed it before, she still had her bag with her from when she was with Teddy and James. She quickly stuffed it under her bed before the other girls could ask about it. Katarina decided she would go through her bag later in private if anything important was to be in there. Looking back at the books, Katarina stuffed them into her new bag.

"Hurry along now before we're late. You do want breakfast don't you?" Marlene tapped her foot impatiently.

The girls all got up to head to the cafeteria.

"No need to be so impatient Marlene!" Slice exclaimed.

"Well, sorry" Marlene stated in a sarcastic manner, "some of us got to eat!"

Marlene situated herself at the Gryffindor table before digging into the breakfast. Katarina didn't eat much, the events of the day before still swarming about.

"Earth to Katarina," Lily waved her hand in front of Katarina's face.

Katarina instantly snaps out of her trance and turns to Lily.

"We've got to head off to class now or else we'll be late. I'd help you to the Transformation classroom but I've got to make sure Marlene doesn't skip her first class," Katarina nods as the three girls leave.

Katarina didn't have any difficulty finding the classroom. It was the same classroom except instead there stood Professor McGonagall. Katarina scanned the rest of the room, to her dismay all the good seats had been taken. She must have been in her trance for a while, she found a seat in the fourth row in front of four whispering boys.

"Welcome back to Transfiguration, I'm professor McGonagall and as most of you have had me for classes before you would know well that I will not be tolerating any foolishness in this class," McGonagall stated.

It was hard for Katarina to focus on exactly what the Professor was saying when the boys behind her were whispering louder by the minute.

"MR. POTTER!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed, "do tell us what is so important you couldn't wait till the class was over."

Potter? Katarina hadn't noticed who she was sitting in front of before. Katarina immediately turned her head around to see James. James Potter? All the pieces were starting to fit. He didn't look like her James for nothing after all.

He was  James' grandfather.
