It was an average day after class, Katarina had laid herself on the common room couch whilst reading the book Remus recommended facing the fireplace. It was rather soothing, just her and the crackling fireplace, except it wasn't. The common room was rather pact with gossiping students.

"Miller, Professor McGonagall has instructed me to give you this," the Gryffindor girl handed the parchment to Katarina.

The letter was made of the same material as her Hogwarts letters. The notable red wax seal encased the latter. Tearing open the letter the Gryffindor girl left seeing as her job was done. The contents of the letter read was simple with eloquent handwriting. It got straight to the point, summoning Katarina to the Headmaster's office.

"What's that?" James had snuck up behind Katarina.

Hastily Katarina folded the letter, hiding its contents.

"Nothing," she muttered.

"Real convincing," James remarked.

It had been three days yet Sirius and Katarina still hadn't made up after the incident. Sirius hadn't seen any fault in his actions and neither had Katarina. Katarina found it hard to get along with people, considering the only friend she had for most of her years was Teddy. She wasn't surprised that Sirius and she had drifted apart despite the interest he had shown at the beginning. Over the past few days, she had learned that Sirius was the type of person to breeze through relationships without holding any lingering feelings. She supposed she was just one of those fleeting interests that had taken ahold of Sirius only to be forgotten in a few days. Despite her nonchalant attitude, she was slightly upset about their fight.

James on the other hand had been a handful, he was often seen following Lily trying to get the slightest attention from her at any moment. Katarina was rather fond of him, she had to say her James took after his grandfather. Unfortunately, she doesn't get to hang out with the boy much considering how Sirius was like his other half. If it weren't for the blatant difference in appearance, she would have assumed they were brothers.

Katarina was closest to Remus out of the bunch. Their shared love for literature and learning brought them closer. They could often be found together in the library surrounded by books and their own amusement. Lily was rather upset that her newfound friend was spending more time with the mischievous boys than with Lily's friend's group. As much as Lily would love to join in she tried to distance herself from James as much as possible.

Nevertheless, Katarina had learned to get along with the girl group. She never had any female friends, most avoided her calling her too boyish or just another mischievous girl like that of Teddy Lupin. Katarina couldn't stand Marlene at first, her constant nagging and gossiping about boys made Katarina stray away. It took a while to get used to but Katarina realized that she should have patience, friendship is to be earned not something that is simply given. Lily and Alice to say the least was a delight. Katarina and Lily hit it off immediately, like her and Remus, Lily too shared the fondness for books. Alice on the other hand was rather shy and it was only after days of talking did Alice start opening up slightly.

Yet with all these new friends, it didn't feel right.

"Is she spacing out again?" Marlene asked coming down the steps from the dorm rooms.

"She does this a lot, I wonder if she's ok?" Alice asks nervously.

"Sorry, I was just thinking," Katarina looked up to the brunette.

"Yea, probably thinking about that letter you won't tell us about," James crossed his arms.

"James, if she doesn't want to share leave her be," Remus put a hand on James's shoulder indicating for him to back off.

"Of course you're going to take her side. Betrayed, by my own best friend,' James covered his face with his calms and pretended to weep.

Remus rolled his eyes as he dragged James off.

"I should probably go," Katarina thought out loud.

"Go where?" Marlene asked as her interest was peaked.

"Dumbledore's office, he called for me," Katarina raised the piece of parchment in her hand.

"Oh, boring," Marlene went back to gossiping with the other Gryffindor girls.

"Don't worry, she's always like that. She doesn't mean anything by it so don't take it to heart," Alice explained.

"Thanks," Katarina smiled.

Katarina looked at the statue that leads to the Headmaster's office and back to parchment in her hands.

"Lemondrop," Katarina read off the letter.

The griffin lifted from the ground, revealing a staircase that led to the office.

"You called, Headmaster," Katarina entered the office looking towards the Headmaster.

He had turned around from which she assumed to be a phoenix. The phoenix was clawing at it's feathers.

"Ms. Miller, I was expecting you" He smiled, "I suspect you already know why I fetched you".

"I suppose it is regarding the time-turner," she followed his movements towards his desk.

"Right you are" he lifted the time-turner from his drawer, "I had inquired some information pertaining to the time-turner."

"And what is the information you had gathered?" Katarina asked.

"There is both good news and bad news, I would rather you pick what you would like to hear first," He looked at Katarina expectantly.

"The good news, sir."

"The time-turner itself is unique, they have never one like it before. They suppose it was made to transport the witch or wizard for long periods of time. It is extremely unlikely you would be incriminated for such circumstances as your landing was accidental," Dumbledore explained.

Katarina felt slightly at ease knowing she wouldn't have to worry about being sent to Azkaban.

"And the bad news?" Katarina gulped.

"Due to it's unknown nature and the long period of time you have stayed here" he paused, "it's unlikely you will be able to return to your time period anytime soon, perhaps forever".

Katarina knew she had been transported to an unknown time period but, the thought of being encapsulated here for eternity was not something she could fathom. Nothing felt right, even if she was around some of the same teachers or made new friends it was right to her. The Hogwarts she was at currently wasn't her home, the one she went to with Teddy and James was. How could she spend the rest of her life in a place she didn't belong?
