Nyx pov.

I wake up wondering when will loki arrive but i assume it wont be for a while so i dress in my usual workout attire. Walking out of my room in a dark green sports bra and black with dark green leggings i grab my shoes. Walking to my personal kitchen i grab an apple and a bottle of water before putting my hair up in a ponytail. Going to the elevator i say "jarvis to training gym please". The ai responds with"right away miss. Stark." I wasnt really starks daughter but when i came here i decided to take his last name and be his adopted child. When i arrive i put on music. Deciding to play the popular radio station i run as fast and as long as i want. As an hour runs by i decided to head up and shower. Grabbing my phone and going up to my floor. I dont expect everybody including our new teammate to be there and in full view of the elevator. So when i step off and take my hair down i dont notice my friends until i turn off my music. Looking up when i hear a cough and chuckle i see everyone staring me down. I quickly make me an oversized sweatshirt in dark green and walk towards everyone. Bucky is the first to say "you definitely know how to put on a show mini stark." I glare at him and walk away. I notice the raven haired man standing a little bit closer to cap and thor look down at the floor when i approach him. "Hello you must be loki right?" He nods his head but doesn't speak. Tony speaks up "alright well nyx this is loki, come on guys lets leave them alone." When they all have left i walk towards loki. He looks at me and says "dont expect me to be nice to you, they have earned my respect you have not little midgardian." I was taken aback by his sudden snarky comment but reply as i walk away "i guess challenge accepted i have your schedule for tomorrow in your room down the hall." With that i show him to his room only for him to slam the door. Scoffing i go to the kitchen to fix me a salad and some lemonade.
Loki's pov.
I had no clue why i had said what i did. I dont even know the girl but i guess i should be rude so she doesn't see the monster i am on the inside. I walk out of my room finally to find her at the kitchen counter eating and reading. I decide to try and be cold towards her. "Hey if your hungry there is a salad in the fridge and some lemonade if you want." She didnt even look up when she said that. I look at her back for a moment and notice just sticking out at the top of her shirt is a scar its looks thin but deep. I go to ask but she is already up and leaving. 2 hours go by and i wonder where nyx is. So i ask Jarvis. He says that nyx is in the back garden which is her private area. I ask him why she goes there and he replies "mr. Loki she goes there because it reminds her of her past and how she overcame it." I wonder what her past was like but dont ask simply going to my own room to read. Its now 3 am
I wake up to a scream coming from nyx room at 3 am. I rush towards her hopefully its not anything to serious. When i come in i see her shaking crying and letting out desperate screams of agony and fear. Rushing to her side i shake her awake. She starts to wake up and mumbles "loki?" I hold her as she cries and try to comfort her from whatever the nightmare was. Stark bursts in the door and sees her crying form in my arms. He tells me that he has this and for me to go back to my room. On my way i see nat and ask her "why was nyx crying and screaming?" She looks up and says "its past memories that plague her at night." I nod and walk off to my room thinking again how bad could her past be. As i get back into bed i wonder is nyx actually ok? I finally drift off to sleep but i cant get a certain girl out of my mind.

Nyx pov.

I wake up the second time but instead of a nightmare its just because its light out. I get out of my bed but a thought halts my steps. Loki saw me cry and scream and he probably knew it was a nightmare... But why did he comfort me? I decided to just leave it be and get ready for the day. I grab some workout clothes and run to the kitchen. I decide to fix loki food so i head to wake his ass up. I knock before i hear a very cranky"leave me be thor!" I guess thor paid him a visit. I walk in and use my best thor impression. I boom out "brother, its time to rise lady nyx wishes to know if your hungry!" I internally chuckle when he cringes at the loud voice. As his head lifts up he looks for thor. So quickly i mimic thors thundering steps and leave without being spotted. I hear loki groan "tell that woman i dont want any of her poison." Thats when i get angry and decide to get back at him. Shooting a small bolt of lightning to hit his butt im satisfied when i hear him groan in pain. Walking back to the kitchen i hear him finally leave his room. He looks confused when he doesn't see thor anywhere but annoyed to see me. I fix him toast quickly before i go to leave. He says "hey dont think i like you or even tolerate you, what do you guys call them oh yes mortal your just a stupid mortal." Im shocked at his words and spin around. Angered i say "im not mortal shut up." As i finally reach the elevator he says again "i bet you had the best life you act so high and mighty but your just a weakling." With his final words i go to train. When i get there tony announces there is a mission that im required for. Clint unhappily takes over watching loki while im gone.
On the mission
As im using my powers to help and protect i get hit and it hurt. Flung to another tree i look down at my already bruising ribs. I can heal fast but im already being drained. Next i feel someone twist my ankle causing it to be sprained. With a few more scratches and bruises the mission is finally over. I cast an illusion to hide my wounds and limp. At home i quickly go down to my floor. Upon arrival i see loki and clint glaring at each other. Clint looks at me and says "nice job kid not even a scratch like always anyway go back to watching reindeer games please." Before i speak again clint has disappeared and its just me and loki. Im weak and because of that the illusion drops without my knowledge. Limping gently towards my room i hear loki say "why did you hide being hurt?" I turn towards him to see him seated on the couch looking at me. I tell him "im fine and please leave me be for a minute". An half hour goes by and i put up the illusion again. As i exit my room tony stands up to say "how do you manage to go completely unscathed in battle when you take on most of the work? Anyway mini stark fury told me to tell you thanks for getting the job done it was a suicide mission." Loki looks up as i answer"thanks papa stark well i better get some food." I never grab food but instead retreat to my room. Those people had a mark associated with my past 'foster parents'. It was a tree on fire. A few tears slip from my eyes and i decide to run for my safe place.

Loki's pov.
I watch her emerge from her room for the second time but this time shes running and then poof shes gone. I ask jarvis if she was ok and he replies "miss. Stark is very upset and very hurt sir, her using her magic to teleport might have caused her to pass out. Shes in her garden, sir she hasnt eaten all day and on top of drained using her powers has got many injuries." After his report i teleport straight to her garden. Not surprising i see her passed out but this is the first time i noticed the blood on her. Rushing i pick her up and take her to the tower. Running into thor, buck, cap, and nat as i entered. When they notice her frail injured body they all start talking. I shush them and tell them "she had injuries from the mission she hid them from you guys with an illusion, she also strained herself to much and hasn't even eaten today. They rush her down to the med area with me. When told to get out we all start to protest. I needed to know more of this girls power so i can know how to help. Waiting impatiently i hear bruce say "she requested to speak to loki alone and then see everyone." They all shared looks of surprise but i just follow him till the door. He tells me which bed and leaves me be. Walking in i see her body stretched out on a bed with multiple bandages. When i sit she opens her eyes those strange eyes. She whispers "loki tell me how did you get into my garden?" Her voice barely audible and her obvious pain made me stay silent. "Loki?" Her whispers snap me out of my thoughts and i answer "when you was to drained whatever spell you placed there came tumbling down so i teleported." I turn to leave and she whispers "thank you for today." I laugh and decide now to keep her far away by saying "id rather you had died however it would look bad on me stupid mortal." I hear her sigh and say "i guess that makes two of us on the wishing for my death." This strikes me in the chest as i hastily leave. When i get to my room i wonder why she would wish for her death. Just why did she make me think and wonder about her?
