Lab Rat (Saiki K)

Ch. 5

The school day went on, and kaidou followed me non stop. But i guess it was somewhat helpful because he showed me where everything was. So i guess that means i'm following him.

We were now in gym. I already hated it. We started off running laps before we did our activity for the day.

I studied the speed of how fast everyone was going so i could blend in. At least this wasn't the running i did that other day. I have to go all out for those.

As i ran i stuck with kaidou, who was struggling to keep up even when he was all the way in the back. Maybe i should go a little faster. I don't want to be seen as to slow.

The most fast students were a loud red haired boy and another boy with a butt chin and weird mohawk. They had already lapped us once.

We finished our 3 laps and stared our activity. It was just basketball. We all got separated into our teams and began.

I sat on the bench with Kaidou and a boy with purple hair and glasses. The rest of the team was on the court.

"So, um... Saiki?" I turned to look at kaidou. "How did you end up getting into house arrest?"

"House arrest?" I said confused.

"He's not on house arrest. When you're on house arrest the thing that alerts them is your ankle." The purple haired boy said.

"Oh, Saiki! This is Kuboyasu!" Kaidou said. "He's a friend of mine."

Kuboyasu stuck out his hand to shake. I looked at it then looked back up at him. I didn't want to shake hands.

He put his hand back down slightly embarrassed.

"So if you're not on house arrest, then what is that thing? And how'd you get that scare?" Kaidou asked.

"Kaidou, you shouldn't just ask people that." Kuboyasu said.

"Oh i'm sorry..." Kaidou said getting quite.

A voiced yelled from across the court. "Kuboyasu, you're in!"

Kuboyasu got up and ran out to the court.

A sweaty green haired boy sat down panting like a dog trying to catch his breath.

He wasn't even playing that hard.

kaidou chuckled. "Weaklings, they could never be able to face the real threat of Daek Reunion if they can't even play a small game of basketball."

Hmm...

"You know if you really wanna know about how i got this, i'll tell you." I smirked.

"Wait really?!" Kaidou's eyes lit up.

I nodded my head and leaned in to his ear. "I'm actually a psychic who just got out of a lab that i've been in my whole life. This device is what keeps my powers held back. If i didn't have this it would get messy." I pulled back from his ear to see his reaction. He looked almost excited.

You might be wondering why i told him. There's no way he actually believes it. To him this is just part of his 8th grade syndrome.

"So you're like me? I don't know if i told you this but... my name is the jet black wings. And just like you i need to keep my powers under wrap. He showed me his right arm that was wrapped with red cloth. Inside my arm is all my power that Dark Reunion is trying to steal from me." He smirked.

You see. He thinks this is all part of his game.

I smiled a little bit realizing that none of this was as bad as i thought it was. The stress was slowly leaving my body. I was no longer in that place. I'm safe here.
