Chapter 8

I woke up to a knock at my door. I looked over as it creaked open and a head full of blond hair popped in.

"Good morning little brother!" He said smiling.

I stretched then sat up rubbing my eyes.

"Get up and get ready. We're gonna have brother bonding day!" He said before shutting the door.

I took a deep breath before getting up.

After I got dressed and went downstairs to meet my brother at the door.

As i was putting on my shoes my mom walked up. "You boys aren't going to eat breakfast?" She asked.

"Kusuo and I are going to have a day to ourselves today, mama. Don't worry I'm taking him out to eat." Kusuke replied.

She smiled. "We'll have fun! Be safe you two!" She said walking back into the living room.

We walked outside and got in the car.

"Where are we going." I asked. I still felt sleepy.

"It's a surprise." Kusuke said backing out and driving away from the house.

My brother leaned over and pushed a button which turned on music.

"Is this music fine with you?" He asked.

"Yeah, I don't really care." I said.

We drove for a little bit until he turned into a lot.

He began to unbuckle. "You can stay in here, I'll be right back." Kusuke said. "I'll leave the car running and lock the doors." He said.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Just in that building." He said before closing the door and locking it.

I sat in the car and pulled my right leg up onto the seat and played with the shoelaces of my shoes as I waited. I listened to the radio as it continued playing. Listening to the people talking between songs I figured out the genre of music was called rock.

It was crazy to believe that outside those white walls and buzzing lights was this colorful world who've created all this. Beside all the colors and that coffee jelly from the other day, music was become another thing I loved about the outside world. Who knew a bunch of noise thrown all together could sound so nice.

I jumped when I heard the car doors unlock. My brother opened the door and climbed in the car. He handed me a paper bag and a warm cup.

"I heard of this place, they had food here that I would eat a lot when I was in England." He said. "It's a breakfast sandwich, also you looked a little tired so I also got you some coffee."

I opened the paper bag as he began to back out of his parking spot. The food smell good.

"Where are we going now?" I asked before taking a bite.

"Um, that's another surprise. He said.

Can't he just tell me?

I sipped my coffee slowly as my brother drove. As I stared out the window, the environment around me changed. Turning from city to smaller buildings and more open space.

I almost forgot I was ever in such an awful place just not that long ago. I closed my eyes and laid my head back. As much as I hated this world, I also loved it as equally. It was beautiful. And how much more beautiful could it get?

The car came to a stop.

"We're here!" My brother said.

I opened my eyes and looked out the window to see a huge body of water a few yards away.
