I am EarlyOAKS, and I have created this community because as a screenwriter— someone who writes screenplays for television and/or film— I found it too difficult in this beautiful world of Wattpad to find the niche group of people I need to bounce ideas off of and edit my work.
Whether this is because the format of a screenplay is just too different, or there simply are not enough screenwriters on Wattpad, I do not know. It may have something to do with the fact that Wattpad does not easily support screenplay format— but maybe we can fix that one day.
I genuinely spent days searching for an active community of screenwriters I could join, and I came up with nothing. As someone not easily deterred, I decided to create my own because I believe it is important for a community like this to exist. The novelists have theirs... the poets do too... and now, without further adieu, the screenwriters do too.
Welcome to The Screenwriter's Directory of Wattpad! As aforementioned, this is a community for all those obsessed with stories that are written for the screen. Open to all levels of screenwriters and movie-lovers, the only requirement to become a part of this community is to sign up.
