I woke to a perfect day. I was so excited. I was going to my first dance, without a friend date, with my first actual boyfriend! I jumped out of bed and slipped on my plain white shirt with my black and white joggers and my short boots. I left my hair down to do it later.
I went to school and Alexis was sad. Jacob hadn't asked her to the dance. I then got really angry. "Alexis, he will ask you to the dance, I'm sure. And if he doesn't, Santa's gonna skip me for Christmas this year." She laughed and hugged me. I didn't say anything to him yet, Ill wait to do that at lunch. I saw Caiden and hugged him tightly. "You're the best. I love you." I said. He chuckled and said, "I wouldn't be the best if I didn't have you." I smiled and he asked me what my dress looked like. "I can't tell you!" I laughed. "Is it blue?" I nodded. "Is it long?" I shook my head and air- locked my lips. "Babe, don't make me beg." He whispered in my ear. "You won't have to." I said kissing his lips before I went to chorus with Alexis and Katherine.
This was our last day before Christmas break, and I had almost two weeks and I eas so excited. I was going to New York to see my grandparents and my cousins for 4 days, and I haven't seen them in like 3 years. We sang Christmas carols and we sounded perfect. I got Christmas gifts from my friends as I gave back to them. It was a great day so far, but then lunch came, and I was ready.
I saw Jacob and his friends enter the cafeteria with me eyeing them. I excused myself from my friends and walked over to Jacob's table. "Hey!" I said. "What's up Kends?" He said. He was wearing khakis and a blue button down shirt. "Why haven't you asked Alexis to the dance? She's your girlfriend!" He got up and took me to the outside of the cafeteria. "Look, I haven't asked her yet because I wanted to sweep her off her feet!" I was puzzled. "THE DANCE IS TODAY DUMBASS! She doesn't even have a dress!" I said. "I know Captain Obvious," he said sarcastically, "But I'm waiting for my mom to get the roses over here. I need to do this now!" Then everything clicked in my mind. "Dont tell Alexis I'm doing this!" I told him his secret is safe with me. I told him I would also let Alexis borrow one of my dresses. I walked back and my friends asked me what was wrong. I shook my head and then everyone got lunch.
Jacob then stood up on the table and whistled to get everyone's attention. We all looked at him and I smiled to myself. "As you all know, the Christmas Dance is tonight. And I wanted to dedicate this to a very special someone." He looked in her direction. She held her breath and he said, "Lexi, come on up here." She smiled and got up going to him. He helped her up on the table and my friend Caleb handed him the roses. My heart fluttered. That was so sweet! He got down on one knee and he asked her to go with her. She cupped her face and squealed yes. We all cheered as they hugged each other. They were really cute. As she sat down with her flowers I leaned in and told her, "I told you he would ask you." She laughed and playfully punched me in the arm.
It was already final period and it was going by sooo slow. I literally wanted to shoot myself in the head. We were learning about stupid sounds and such. We learned this in like 6th grade. Then, finally, the announcements came on and we were dismissed home. I hugged and kissed Caiden goodbye and went home.
I had everyone over and we did each other's nails, hair, and makeup. Katherine had a short purple dress, Jessica had a medium red dress, Taylor had a short green dress, Alexis borrowed my long purple dress, and Amanda had a pink long dress. (My dress is the blue one up top.) We all looked great. My hair was down with my bangs pulled back in a fancy braid. I felt so beautiful.
Taylor's parents drove us to the school, and we met our dates there. I saw Caiden and he saw me. He was speechless, as was I. He had a black suit on with a gorgeous baby blue top that matched mine with a blue tie. His earrings were still in, but his hair was up in a Mohawk. He looked downright hot. He looked at me and just gushed smiling. I smiled and walked over to him. "You.... look... absolutely beautiful." I blushed and fixed his tie. We walked in together and we started dancing. The DJ had the best songs I'm telling you. When we got tired we got drinks and food. We took a bunch of pictures and then went back to dancing. Then the DJ called all the couples to report to the dance floor and dance. He took me and we started dancing. I rested my head on his shoulder and he moved his hands around closer to my waist. "Kendall?" I look up at my soul mate. "Yea?" "I'm so happy I decided to talk to you on that first day I came here. Little did I know that that small talk would get me to where I am now." I smiled and said, "Well thanks for sticking with your gut. Otherwise I'd be home with ice cream watching Netflix now." He chuckled and said, "That's not a bad idea to do over break." I looked outside and it was dark. I also saw the moon. "Can we go outside? I wanna show you something." I said. He nodded and we went out to the patio. I looked at the moon and I took a picture of us, but it didn't come out so well. Then the garbage man came to take the garbage and Caiden asked him if he could take a picture of us. The man glady did it. I held his hands in the first one and we looked into each others eyes for the first one. For the second one we stood together watching the moon. The last one we took of us kissing under the moon. I was going to put those on Instagram. And my mom would scrapbook it. We then we're all alone outside in the cold and he gave me his jacket. I sighed and looked over at him. "What?" He asked. "I'm just so grateful that I had met you. You changed my life and you made me the happiest person on the planet. Thank you Caiden." He smiled and kissed my forehead. Then he leaned over to me and looked me straight in the eyes. "Kendall Jade Williams, will you please be mine and mine only for the end of time." He asked laughing. I laughed and said, "As long as Caiden Joseph Stephenson does the same." He smiled and we embraced kissing each other for a long time, gazing at the moon.
And this night, was the best night of my life. And we stayed together until the end of time.
