The Injury

I woke up excitedly and jumped out of bed. I put on my soccer jersey which was blue and white, for an away game, and I slipped on black jeans with my short black Uggs and left my hair down to put up later. I ran downstairs and I saw my dad waiting for me. "Let's go! You're gonna be late!" He said. I grabbed a bagel and a granola bar and said goodbye to Austin and my mom. I also hugged my dog Max and rubbed his fur. I ran out the door and my dad drove me to the bus stop. I went on it and Alexis wasn't there.

At school I met up with Taylor and Jessica. "Hey guys!" "You're always late! And Alexis isn't coming today, she got sick with strep throat." Aww. My best friend isn't coming today? Boo. "You guys ready for today?" Jessica asked sitting down. "Yeaaaa but I hear that they've gotten a little better." I said. Eastern Valley was terrible the last couple games, but I guess they made some progress. Some of their team members followed me on Instagram, considering I have 3.4k on it. I posted lots of soccer and other sport things, plus I sang sometimes.

We went to our first period classes and Caiden came up to me from behind and hugged me. "Hay babe!" He said smiling. Gosh I love his braces. "Hey!" I said. "Is you ready for your game?!" He asked me dancing. I laughed and said yea. I have been practicing all night really. I want to win this time. He snaked his arm around my waist and we walked to our classes.

When we got to biology we worked on our project, which was almost done because of our hard work. He kept telling me jokes and I couldn't stop laughing. He was the love of my life. I don't know what I would've done if I had never met him. Lunch was packed today. Everyone had a game today. The field hockey girls, football boys, everyone. But only ours was away today. It was our second to last away game for the season, before winter came. It was late in fall, late November to be exact. Next week we had 4 games, which we never have. I was super excited for it.

After lunch my girls and I went to our last period Reading class and we got called early. We ran down to the locker room changing and taking selfies. On the bus we made vines and took tons of pictures. I posted them and got instant likes on them. I had over 6,000 followers on vine. I don't even know how I got them actually. I don't even use the apps for that stuff.

When we got there we set everything up and practiced. We were so excited and ready to start. The game had began and I saw my parents and Austin in the stands cheering me on. I was playing mid field this time, and I was doing good. We won our first game, because me and my 9th grade bff Bianca had distracted the other team player who was about to go and make a goal. Some of the girls got mad at this, and they looked pretty angry at me. I didn't care, it's a game for God's sake. When we went into our B game I was striker and went to go and trick a few people. I crossed two people and fake kicked the ball and ran the other way. Some girl tried to trip me, but I kicked the ball a little too far and tried to run to it. A girl from the other team went for it, and I knew I had to get over there quickly. I took the ball and ran to make a goal, when the girl ran into me knocking me over, making me flip onto my head and coming down with a big thud. My eyes rolled I to the back of my head and all the blood rushed to it. I was trying to cry, to scream for help, but I was so hurt that I couldn't move. I was in trouble. I felt people touching me asking me if I was okay. "Help me." I said. I heard Amanda ask me what hurts and I stuttered "M-my h-h-ead." I could hear their voices getting slightly softer, and my eyes turned completely black.

Caiden's POV

I was still at the game, and we were winning. We had to take a small break for water and a pep talk when I heard the girls saying stuff about Kendall. I walked over to see what was happening and they said she got hurt, and that she was rushed to the hospital! My heart broke, and I had to get over there. "MIKE!" I called to my friend on the stands. He was a junior, and he was legal to drive. My coach called my name but I needed to get to my baby. I grabbed my stuff throwing it into the car and he drove off with me in it. I called my mom to tell her I was going to the hospital, because Kendall got hurt. She started yelling at me because I wasn't being responsible, but she loved Kendall and she said she'd be on her way. I had tears coming down my cheeks and I tried texting and calling her. There were no replies. When we got there I ran out of the car and I saw her parents and Jessica and Katherine in the waiting room. Austin saw me and came to me crying. "Kendie got hurwt!" He said. I picked him up and I started talking to her parents. They said she came down on her head and she may have a bad concussion or neck injury. I held the tears back and waited for the doctor to come and tell us we could see her.

After 20 minutes he came and he said that she had a mild concussion and said she couldn't play the next 3 games, or got to the next 3 practices. We went to see her and there I saw her, in her bed, sleeping like an angel. Her skin was white, and her hair was down too. Her makeup emphasised her facial features, and she looked so peaceful. I would wait until she would wake up.
