“Pitch Black?” Merida asked with food still on her mouth while Rapunzel chuckled at her best friend.
The now-bigger group planned and decided to discuss their next step before they storm into North Mountain and convince the Queen to stop the Eternal Winter.

What wasn’t in the plan was eating dinner while they were at it.

“He is considered King of Nightmares.” Jack explained. “You know, the Bogeyman? He scares children in their sleep and collects dark energy to fuel his power.”
“So what’s this guy got to do with our mission in finding Elsa?” Anna asked.
“I and the other guardians back at the North Pole are on his trail because he’s a disturbance. He’s been seeking me out in particular, convincing me to join his side which I never considered good since he just wants to take advantage of the power I have.” He replied.
“So you're saying Pitch Black is after the queen to get her power?” Hiccup asked.
“I’m not exactly sure but it makes sense, doesn't it?” Jack said.
Everyone silently nodded in agreement. With Jack Frost as witness to the villain's attempts, it was pretty believable.
“Now, how do we get to her? As we’ve seen earlier, we could have died out there battling those Nightmares. We could hardly stand a chance.” Kristoff said.
“But we can’t let it go, not when we’ve come this far!” Rapunzel exclaimed.
“The lass is right.” Merida said. “There’s got to be a way to get through.”
Anna raised her hand. “Toothless actually did a pretty good job a while ago, blasting plasma and fire."
Suddenly, Hiccup’s head shot up.
“What is it, Hiccup?” Rapunzel asked.
“That’s it! I know just what we need.” He said.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

“Are you sure about this Hiccup? I don’t like the idea of separating. It’s risky.” Rapunzel said.
Toothless was all set and Hiccup hopped on, ready to go.
Rapunzel, Anna, Kristoff, Jack and Merida stood there, waiting for him to blast through the wall of ice that Jack made to protect them.
“If one dragon can do wonders, many will definitely get the job done. I’ll get the others to help us, don’t worry. Toothless and I will be quick about it.” Hiccup smiled reassuringly at everyone.

“At least take someone except from Jack with you. He and I will take care of those who’ll stay behind.” Kristoff suggested.
Hiccup had been hoping for someone to say that and thank goodness he did.
He stopped a moment as if deciding who to pick even though he already knew who he wanted. But before he could speak, Anna beat him to it.
“Take Merida!” she squealed.
He turned to Merida who shot an angry gaze at Anna. The OTP (One True Pairing) Shipper just smiled innocently back.
“Fine.” Merida said and walked over to where her sword, bag and bow and arrows lay. She was just about to grab Angus’ rope when Rapunzel spoke.
“Why don’t you leave Angus here and ride with Hiccup, Mer? It’ll be much faster and that way, you’ll both be at a...closer distance.” She said.
Rapunzel and Anna held back their squeals and high-fived while Merida groaned secretly. She hated this teasing because it reminded her of the confession she’d made.
She left Angus and went back to the group.
Hiccup reached out his hand and, quite hesitantly, Merida took it and climbed up behind him. She could smell him this close. Instinctively, she wanted to put her arms around him but managed to hold back.
“We’ll see you guys soon.” Hiccup said before signaling Toothless to shoot a ball of plasma at the wall, shattering it and fly through.
“Well, that was quick and messy.” Jack said as he reconstructed his protective wall of ice.

“Why’d you do that?” Kristoff asked the girls.
“They totally needed some time alone.” Rapunzel said.
“I don’t understand.” He sighed.
“Welcome to the club, Kristopher.” Jack said.
“It’s Kristoff.” Kristoff told him.
Jack just smirked back and finished his work.
