The Calling

No one wants me. No one needs me, a girl sobs.
Jack watched her fall to her knees. Her beautiful dress is soaked with her tears, glistening in the moonlight. The temperature drops as her cries grew louder.
I’m a monster! I’m a danger to everyone!

Jack’s eyes flew open. His head was throbbing though he wasn’t really sure why.
“You ok Jack?” Anna asked.
Jack put a hand on his forehead. “It’s just a nightmare.”
He looked around the place and found it empty.
“Where’s Rapunzel and Kristoff?” he asked.
“Didn’t you remember? It was supposed to be our turn to get food today but you seemed tired so they took our place.” Anna replied. Jack touched his forehead again and stood up slowly.
“I need some fresh air. I’ll be right outside.” He told her. She nodded and he went out with the icy door he had created from the side.
Tangles of vines greeted him and he pushed through, making it to the open plain covered with snow. The door was made so that they could easily slip out and get food from outside. The tangles of vines were for cover.
He stretched and put his hands on his hips. Then he sat down on a pile of snow. He thought again of his dream. The woman seemed terribly troubled.

I’m a monster! I’m a danger to everyone!

He remembered her say. She sounded so depressed though he didn’t know why. Her back was turned to him so he didnt know who it could be.
His eyes scanned the snowy forest, passed the frozen river and ended up at the darkness - surrounded ice castle.

Ice castle?!

He narrowed his eyes. There was a castle. It stood tall 10 feet from the ground and built of pure and solid crystal ice.
He went closer to the edge, still near the hide out. Black horse-shaped objects swirled and ran around the castle. Nightmares, he muttered to himself.

No one wants me. No one needs me…

Somehow, he knew the castle was some sort of sign, a connection to his dream. Realizing the possibility, he descended from the hideout and ran to the forest.

Merida could feel the temperature drop when they reached another island. The snow seemed to be thicker there and she guessed they must be at Arendelle now. Hiccup confirmed her guess.

“Arendelle everyone. Keep it low!” He yelled back to the Vikings.
Then he let Toothless down to look for the hideout. When he found it, he raised a hand and Toothless set them right under the trees, just below the hideout.
“Everyone stay quiet. If you see any swirling black objects or horses, someone tell me. Astrid?”
Astrid responded at Hiccup’s call.
“I leave you in charge.” He continued. She nodded. He took Merida’s hand and they hiked to the hideout.
“This is so hard.” Merida heard Hiccup grumble. She giggled.
“What did you say, great Dragon Tamer?” she asked.
“Nothing.” He muttered.
Then suddenly, he slipped and was sent dangling off the cliff. Merida gasped and pulled him back up with a laugh.
“Nothing, huh?” she teased.
“I should’ve let Jack make ice stairs.” He said.
“And risk you falling off the cliff? No way. You could not even handle hiking on solid rocks, how much more ice stairs?”
He grunted and hoisted himself up the hill. She laughed and helped him. Then she spotted blonde hair.

“Punzie! Kristopher!” she yelled and gave Rapunzel a hug. Rapunzel had a bag of food with her and Kristoff dropped the firewood he brought to greet Hiccup.
“It’s Kristoff.” Kristoff said but smiled at them.
“Did you succeed?” Rapunzel asked.
“Yeah they’re at the bottom and we planned to attack now.” Merida said.
“Now? But-“
“We are all set and ready.” Hiccup cut Kristoff off. “We have to go now.”
“Alrighty then. I’ll get Anna and Jack.”
Merida excused herself and went inside.

There she found Anna feeding Angus.
“Anna!” Merida gave Anna a hug. “We have to go. Where’s Jack?”
“He went outside, didn’t you see him?” Anna asked.
“No, he wasn’t there.” Merida replied. “Anyway, let’s pack up. We gotta leave.”
When they went outside with Angus, they immediately went down the cliff and found Hiccup with Rapunzel, Kristoff and the Vikings.

“Where’s Jack?” Merida asked.
“I was going to ask the same thing.” Hiccup said.
“He said he was going out for some fresh air.” Anna explained.
“Well, we can’t wait for him. For all we know, the queen could be in danger right now.” Kristoff said.
“So are you saying we should go without him?” Anna gasped.
“I agree with Kristoff.” Hiccup turned to the Vikings and spoke with a single command.
“To North Mountain!”

Jack hid behind a huge tree. He watched a Nightmare trot by before he sneaked behind a boulder just beside the castle. It really was huge up close. The workmanship was amazing. But the way was guarded by a lot of Nightmare and its riders. He peeked and when it was safe, he flew to the door and got in.

He gasped at the beauty before him. A crystal chandelier hung above his head. There were glass windows too. The ceiling was pointed right into the sky. The icy staircase and the curls of its railings are admirable. He slowly walked up, cautious and careful of any trap that could get him.

Up the last staircase was a bedroom. The chamber was curled and designed. A bed was placed at the side. Beside it was also a balcony to the outside.

Jack couldn’t see anyone there and so he walked over to the bed. There was a blue lamp. He got interested so he looked for a switch but only found a key. He inserted it in a hole and the lamp lit up with white light.
He saw a shadowed figure of a girl making magic with her hands. She seemed to be smiling. Dozens of other shadows appeared. They were people smiling at her doings. Then suddenly, the light darkened. The magic she made became life itself. She stepped back, frightened. The people seemed to be afraid too. The magic had turned against her and engulfed her.

“It was not my idea.” He turned to the voice and saw a girl standing just a few feet away. She was about his human age (because being a Guardian meant being immortal). She wore a long beautiful blue dress and crystal heels. Her platinum colored-hair was braided to the side and embroidered with tiny snowflakes and crystal gems.

“To make the lamp, I mean. I needed something to remind me of my fears.” He gaped at her beauty.
“Who are you?” she asked.
“Jack Frost. And you?” he asked back, even though he knew who she was.
“A monster.” She turned away. “You should leave before I could hurt you.”
“I don’t believe you’re a monster, Queen Elsa.” He said.

She gasped at him.
